Yes you can BUT take into account the cost of getting the parts, taking off the wheel/calipers/rotors,replacing same with new pads,it aint that much to take it to a brake specialist depot and they carry a warranty after...its easy if you have the tools/spares to hand, and you feel like spending about 4 hours sat on the driveway...(in the rain?)no, brakes are the only job that i, as a trained tech, would not be bothered with...BUT it is your money...

Need to replace brakes on 2000 GMC Safari. does it have disc brakes all around or drum rakse in rear?

Disc brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear. Make sure that you repack the front bearing's with wheel grease before finishing the job.If the front rotors and or the rear drums have a rough brake pad surface, get them resurfaced before installing new brake pads or brake shoes in the rear. you can go online or your public library for complete instructions on how to replace the brakes on that vehicle.

I have re/re the rear brake cylinders, shoes, drums, front rotors, pads, and callipers on my 2000 gmc safari van.i have bled all the brakes. but the drivers front has no pressure or fluid.the other three brakes...

make sure you are bleeding them by doing them as an abs system,do the right rear then the left front, then the left rear then the right front, the opposite wheels are how the system brakes.

Front wheel bearing 2000 GMC Safari

Yes is fairly easy job because the wheel bearing comes off whit the brake rotor just remove the brake caliper the rotor center cap the safety ping and the center nut on the brake rotor the hole thing will come off but "NOTE" you are going to need a new brake rotor because if the bearing was bad probably the rotor is bad to a new grease retainer seal and of course plenty of grease. Good luck :)

Sounds like the brake pads is still slightly making contact with the rotor. Replace pads and / or rotor.

Could be that the pads are wore out and are just scraping the rotor. Definately replace pads AND rotor.

Could be that the pads have broken their clips and are flopping around.

Could be a rock stuck in the overall brake assembly.

if the brake pedal is low than the problem could be that the brakes need replacing and the other problem could be a problem with the ABS system
