Question about 1997 Oldsmobile Achieva
you have to insert a key into the little hole at the top left of the shifter to release it.
the servo that is activated when you press the brake might be bad or it could be a blown fuse or a broken wire .
Also it can be internally broken gear shift button.
to take off that gear shift knob/button. there was a **** in the front of the knob, you use a screwdriver and pry out the staple that holds it in place. Then you can pull on the gear shift knob gently to remove it. Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.
