Can I get a copy of the procedure to change the 02 sensor on a 2004 Lincoln Aviator?

You don't need a copy of anything

All O2 Sensors are in both ends of the
exhaust converters on lincolns

All you need is a 22mm or 7/8" wrench

You will be changing only the front (2) sensors,
the ones closest to the engine at 100,000 miles
or when they fail

Ideally the check light or wrench etc & codes
don't always mean to change something

Assuming you won't know or have what is necessary
to test them, just change the front 2

Get the OEM NGK or Bosch at NAPA
Once you pull the sensor ,you will see the brand on it
The new wires may be 5" longer, just coil & wire tie

I used an old scan tool with a scope on mine, as a VOM
Meter didn't give you switching time & the scope really
was a nice test. You will notice an instant pedal response
with new sensors,I did with the Lincoln LS

Check that the rear monitor O2 sensors are tight
They loosen from the heat or were never tight from
the assy line

I have a 2004 lincoln aviator on thursday the check engine light came on took it to a mechanic and he said the o2 sensor was bad and on saturday the check transmission light came on!!! is it because of...

Sorry, they are not related.
O2 Sensor has to do with the fuel and emissions of the vehicle. Usually the O2 sensor replacment is a simple job, much like changing out a spark plug. the sensor cost about $35 part only. But there are 2 of them. Your mechanic or part shop can test them.
The check transmission light could be noting more that low fluid. Haw you had the vehicle in to have the scheduled transmission oil change?

My 2004 pontiac vibe check engine light just came on. car has 150,000 miles. what could be the cause?

There are to many things that can cause the check engine light to come on. Best thing to do is to go to Auto Zone and get the Car ecm scanned for the DTC codes which would indicate the issues to why the check engine light is on. It could be as simple as a bad gas cap and needs to be replaced and if that is the case, make sure your get one from the dealer and not a generic gas cap. It could also be a bad O2 sensor and Auto Zone can give you the step by step instructions to replacing the old O2 sensor with a new on with common tools and they do have that part for sale. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to answer any more questions you may have.

Location of oxygen sensor

Under the truck, driver side exhaust pipe, there are 2, 1 is before the catalytic converter, the other is after. They screw into the side of the exhaust pipe.

Service engine soon comes on 2004 altima

Best thing to do is go to Auto Zone and have the computer in the car scanned for codes that is triggering your service engine light on.
They scan for free and i'm thinking that it just might be a O2 sensor that may have gone bad. What ever the problem is Auto Zone should have the part for you to replace the faulty part, and will have the instructions for you do the job your self if you'll like to save more money.
Good luck and hope this help's

MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON YESTERDAY BUT MY 2004 NISSAN SENTRA

hi, most of the time when these lights come on, its because of some sort of sensor failure. if you are not experiencing any noises or tapping in the engine compartment, this is only a failed sensor. you will have to get it diagnosed by the computer to know what specific sensor it may be. i suspect maybe a O2 sensor or egr valve. this is minor but, you Will need to get this repaired if possible.

O2 sensor problem

I have a 97 gmc sierra .This truck is the same as the chevy ok.Its a 350 5.7 liter 4x4 Z71.I took it to auto zone which was my first mistake. They put it the scanner and said bad O2 sensor.Ok so which one is it i said. They dont know.Well there four (4) O2 sensors in this truck i hope you know that.I had to replace all four of them before i had to take it to a real shop.It seems the fuel pump i replaced a week earlier with an auto zone fuel pump was bad.Ive changed my feul pump 4 times now and have 235000 miles on still running. You need to get your fuel pressure checked. It should be 65 psi to start it and 55 psi to run it.If the pressures are good it could be a different O2 sensor or maybe the mass air flow senor. My last option would be the fuel pressure regulator because it seems to be a waste of time and money.I would get that fuel pressue checked first.Good luck.
