Question about 1996 Audi A4
Hi, Besides the usual tune up, check for vacuum leaks, broken hoses, etc.
Listen around with a piece of tubing, for sucking sounds.
Check the EGR by disconnecting it and seeing that is stays cool when reving. Then connect it and see that it heats up when reved.
Pinch the PVC and purge valve tubing, one at a time, to see if they are leaking all the time. If so, the engine will run better when pinched.
Clean out the air mass sensor.
Check other sensors like temp and O2, with ohmmeter. Bad ones are usually 0 or infinite resistance.
