You may have got some dirty fuel last time you filled the tank, if the vehicle was OK before you put the gas in it seems likely this could be the cause,if so the fuel tank will have to be drained & cleaned, filters changed, fuel lines cleaned out & injectors (if it has injectors) this problem is a real PITA (Pain In The ***).....hope this helps.....cheers

My 2001 camry stutters or what you call it when I take off im not pressing down hard once it reaches the right speed it is fine just when accelerating

Could be a dirty fuel filter, but with what you told me,Most likely will not accelerate on a hill because the EGR(exhaust recirculation valve)is bad.Replace the EGR.

run the fault codes first to check for faulty sensors
what you describe indicates a problem in the exhaust in that when the exhaust gas volume reaches a certain level the sensors are reporting it and the ECM is not able to fix it
have an accredited exhaust shop check the cat converter
for failure and partially blocking the exhaust at speed
if it was a fuel pump you would run into problems long before the speed at which it occurs
AT best it could be an EVAP problem with the vent not working properly but I think that it is exhaust related

While merging onto the highway when my car hit 3 and 4th gear the engine seemed to "stutter/misfire" during harder acceleration. Check engine light also flashed briefly during hard acceleration. Dur

Could be a transmission problem or something as simple as bad spark plugs.
The engine is under the most load when RPM is low and you are trying to accelerate, such as when it upshifts.
You should have the computer checked for trouble codes and hopefully that will point you in the right direction to test.
If the spark plugs have more than 50,000 miles of wear you might start with replacing them.

You need to have the engine control computer scanned for fault codes, if nothing shows then it is very possible you have a failing fuel pump.

This is what you need to do, change the plug wires, because if there is a bad wire you would definitely experiences sputter or a stutter, so do the plug wires and at the same time do the spark plugs, this should take care of your problem. if not let me know and i will give you the next step

STUTTERS DURING ACCELERATION

throttle position sensor .. this lets the computer know just where your foot is on the gas .. It gets worn out in that position because that is where it is used the most. I would check it first then go from there... they are priced reasonable .. always start with the least expensive first then go from there. thanks Jerry holler if you need more
