Change the speed sensor if you have the electronic speedometer. If you have a cable driven speedometer, buy a new cable, and replace.

Change the speed sensor if you have the electronic speedometer. If you have a cable driven speedometer, buy a new cable, and replace the old cable if it has been broken.

SPEEDOMETER QUIT

You may need another speedometer. The speed sensor sends a signal to both the speedo and the odometer. So if the sensor fails, both meters would stop working.
The speedo gets power from the same circuit as the warning lights.

Speedometer and odometer does not work on my 1994 toyota pick up truck base model

Is the car going to be worth any more than 500 bucks with a working cluster, no. Go to a parts store and see if that year still had a speedometer cable, if so buy it and install it. If it does not have a cable
what you are going to do is buy a used instrument cluster on eBay for about 25 bucks or at a local junkyard and find out how to swap it by searching for "toyota dashboard" videos on www.youtube.com. If that does not fix it then you are going to buy a speed sender unit at advance, they are cheap, and swap that in. If that does not fix it, then you have spent all you should on this vehicle. Anymore serious diagnosis is going to cost more than the thing is worth.

1994 standard transmission Toyota pickup truck speedometer, and odometer stopped working. How do I fix it.

There is a cable that runs from the back of the transmission to back of dash.Undo cable at trans end.Spin the inner wire with cordless drill, speedo should move,if not replace speedo cable. Some cables u can pull inside wire from trans end,so don't have to mess with dash

Speedometer on my 1994 standard toyota pickup only works intermittently. The odometer works fine. Where should I start... speed sensor, cable or speedometer?

neoprene gear in transmission were the speedometer cable goes into transmission should not have a dished appearance if you pulll it out of transmission look at it from the side it should appear flat from the start of the gear to end of gear no dish down in center

Does 1994 toyota pickup have a computer instatlled?

mcdevito75 here, with almost 100% certainty it does, the chances that a 94 Toyota pickup does not have a computer are nill, non existant. Look at your engine If you don"t see the old type carburetor sitting on top of th engine then you have fuel injection and that is computer controlled, also look along the firewall for a mass of wires, also look for the old type distributer cap if you don"t see it then you have computer controlled ignition. I can say with almost 100% you do have a computer in your toyota pick up.
