Question about Toyota Land Cruiser

1 Answer

I purchased a 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado that originated in Japan. The steering column was moved to the left but the the side mirrors are still set for a right sided column and I cannot adjust the electric mirrors sufficiently for the driver on the left, ie, the left side mirror will not adjust outward enough and the right side mirror will not adjust inward enough. Is there a way to take the mirrors off and adjust the stops or do I have to replace them both with mirrors set up for a left sided driver?

Hi! Theres no way you can adjust the internal motor for it is setted for right hand use. The only cure is to replace the mirrors set for left hand drive. HOpe this helps and have a good one!

2001 Toyota Prado (exported from Japan). Compass reset procedure.

Hi, don't know if you figured it out, but I just (literally 10 minutes ago) calibrated the compass on my 2001 LandCruiser Prado by doing the following:

- Press the up and down arrows together until the inclinometer starts to blink.
- Then press the "Mode" button to switch to compass. The compass should start to blink.
- Drive your car in a 360 degree circle until the compass stops blinking.
- And that's about it.

Even though this is an old question I wanted to post the answer because I've been looking at this issue for a year and haven't found the solution online.

Please note that this page http://www.tlocuk.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?p=2302&sid=327bc81ab3b0160e82d7863b3e6417f5 pointed me in the right direction although the instructions there caused the inclinometer to be re-calibrated in my car. I had to tinker around and I figured out that if I pressed "mode", it switched to compass calibration.

Regards,

danls

Need tire size for 1995 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado

Big tires:

1. Hard time for your drive train (clutch, cv joint, tranny, diff gears) , power steering, brakes
2. Slow acceleration
3. possible fender damage
4. turning radius problem
5. increase body roll and instability
Advantages:
1. good ground clearance
2. softer ride
3. Enhanced off-road ability

tires your planning to buy can fit into your existing rims.
My personal opinion is for you to go for the bigger tires!

1997 Toyota land cruiser prado Rz compass bearing, temperature setting, etc.

I've been resetting pajero's compasses but try to get to an area where you can do 360 degrees turns (empty car parks, ) press the reset button and make 2 complete 360 turns slowly and normally this should set the compass bearing.
Let us know how you get on. Cheers.
