Question about 2003 Mazda MPV

1 Answer

Vehicle is a 2003 Mazda MPV- Radio and door mirrors do not work . I do not yet own the vehicle. Is it possible that a fuse or fuses could be the problem? At present, I do not have an owner's manual or anything showing what the fuses protect.

I think it may be an electrical issue but I think it's just a fuse. There are 2 fuses I would check. One of them is a 15 amp fuse inside the fuse panel inside the vehicle (see fuse layout below) and the other is a 40 amp fuse in the fuse panel under the hood of the vehicle in the engine compartment (see other picture below). I marked the fuses to check and hope this is the problem.

Blower and radio quit working at the same time

Sounds like a short or blown fuse. Check your fuses. Some vehicle share between different devices.

2003 MPV. Room Fuse would immediately blow when replaced - as a result, no audio, auto doors, interior lights, etc. It would blow without the key in the ignition so I knew it had to be something that operated without the electric being turned on. Started guessing by pulling the fuses for the auto doors then retrying the Room Fuse.. Room Fuse continued to blow. Then went through interior lighting - started taking out bulbs and disconnecting lighting connections trying to isolate the issue.. popped the visor mirrors out and noticed one of the connections had come loose.. reconnected, popped in another Room Fuse, and presto! Everything back to normal - lucky me.

I had battery replaced on my vehicle but the radio and inside lights haven't worked since the battery was replaced

could be that a ground wire got disconnected or moved to a point that it is no longer making an electrical connection. I would check those first, if that doesn't fix the problem i would move on to your fuses and make sure that the one controlling you lights and radio aren't burned out.

Radio went out, door ajar light stays on lost manual for fuse box

Google the vehicle or you can ask the dealer what fuse is for a specific item or check each fuse 1 by 1.
