Changing the window motor driver side

Hello,

To change the window motor driver side, follow the steps below:
  1. remove 1 visible bolt left side of arm rest
  2. Pop out window switch/door lock/ mirror adjustment control panel with a screwdriver
  3. Use panel remover or just pull on interior panel to remove must slide it off of door handle
  4. Slide control switch panel down through hole you popped it out of
  5. Pull vapor barrier loose bottom right side to expose coiled spring and window motor
  6. Tape window in the up position using masking or package tape
  7. Mark a straight line across coil spring to make sure you can realign it when reinstall
  8. Use tool j-38864 connect it near outer part of coil sprint where it hooks to retainer or in a pinch use pointed vice grips at same location ensuring they are firmly locked on spring ( be very careful, I'm not responsible for any injury if you are not)
  9. Force spring clockwise to disengage it from it's retainer point
  10. Pull spring slightly outward just enough to clear the retainer point and slowly let it uncoil counterclockwise and let it sit there
  11. Disconnect wire connector from right end of window motor
  12. Use your hands and push 3 plastic retainer points outward as you lift up on window motor to disengage from retainers careful not to break the plastic retainers comes out pretty easy
  13. Install new motor into the plastic retainers, make sure filly seated ( lining up plastic Guides into holes in motor (3 points)
  14. Reconnect wire connector to new motor
  15. Use J38864 or vice grips to recoil spring, resit it to retainer point as before you have to be very careful in order not to hurt yourself
  16. Remove tape from window and test up/down switch ( key must be on)
  17. Reseal vapor barrier in place as it was prior to starting
  18. Slide switch control back up through hole in door panel from where it mounts
  19. Slide door over door handle
  20. Align retaining clips to holes and push them home with gentle raps of your hand start at the top and work downward on panel
  21. Replace both bolts in arm rest
  22. Pop window/door lock control panel back in place
That is how to change the window motor of the drivers side of a 2000 pontiac montana.

Take care and good luck

How do i fix the outside handle? it loose but i can still open the door.but i dont want it loose.

You will need to remove the inside panel of the door. To do this you need to remove the screws in the arm rest. They might be right there visable behind the handle or up under it. Or if the handle is not located in the arm rest then the screws are probably under it.Once that is removed then if the handle is over to the side there should be screws to take the plate off. the handle should slip through the panel when ready.
Oh yeah, If the window and lock switch are on the arm rest remove it too and unplug it from the switch. Once eveything is undone from the panel then you are ready to pop the clips off. If yor lock button is down then the panel should slip over it or you can unscrew it and set it aside. take a flat head screw driver and put sone electric tape around the end to prevent tearing or scratching. Slip the screw driver under the edge of the panel and pry out untill you here the clip pop. you will need to go around the panel doing this until you get them all and the panel is ready to come off.
There may be a cardboard thick type sheet of paper covering the door. Pull it back from the edges so you can replace it later. You may not need to take it all the way off but only pull it back from the handle side. You will see a square opening in the door. here is where you need to go into to locate the handle screws or bolts, what ever the case may be. You can tighten them down. You may find that the window is in the way. Use your master switch on the driver side to lower or raise the window as you need to or just plug in the switch on that side and operate it from there. key will need to be on no doubt. Ok tell me how we are doing so far? We will put everything back in revrse the way it came off. Let me know how I did in a blind spot from here. Raz

Drivers side window has slipped off track 2006 mazda mpv

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Pull back the weather seal and you can readjust the window mechanics.

Passenger side power window does not go down

I would start by locating the fuse for the power windows, if one side is working move to step 2. I have replaced window regulators on several american vehicles, the honda should be no different. Youcan order the power window regulator online on autopartswarehouse.com, or take a chance at your local junkyard. you will need to remove the door panel, start at the release mechanism inside, usually 1 screw with a small plastic cover. in addition, 1 screw in the grab area of the arm rest, also covered. at the bottom of the panel under the arm rest start to pry off the door panel, you can take it off with a flat blade screwdriver or flat pry bar. it will make a snapping sound. then proceed, there are about about 8-10 total clips. after this is done, you will need to un hook the power window and door lock connections. next remove the door light connection at the bottom of the door. remove the plastic lining as careful as possible. you will need to put this back on after you finish. usually there are three screws attached to the regulator and 4 screws, 2 on each side of the alignment tracks. in addition there are 2 screws holding the window to the brace that moves up and down. remove the window bolts first and remove the glass, then proceed with the rest of the bolts, then re assemble as you have taken apart. On the hondas I would say about 2-3 hours will be need for each window. Good Luck!!!

My one door lock button is stuck down and others simply don't wor

You may need to remove your door panels (screws are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door) and then peel back the weather film on each door to see what could be causing the issues.. rusted wires, loose connection, broken linkages, seized linkages. I'm not sure what to do with your car since each door seems to be having a different issue, but I would check the locking mechanisms..
