CPI uses an injector pump that this lines connect to. Di you replace that or the just the lines? What about the crank sensor?

  • jammers4fun Aug 04, 2010

its a spider line. its one whole unit with the regulater and lines. does it have a crank sensor? i didnt c 1 in the chiltons book

  • Brad Brown Aug 05, 2010

Get a scan tool and see what the codes are that are present in the computer.

  • jammers4fun Aug 05, 2010

thier r no codes, it was a bad spider line, auto zone sucks balls, first they gave me the wrong fuel pump, than the new spider lines where bad cause i got a new set and they worked. only good thing is all the parts i bought were at cost and i did all the work, so all in all i spent about 950 and got about 3000 worth of work, needless to say the car will run for 10 years with out a problem

You've already eliminated the spark plug & wireset, distributor cap & rotor.

The problem is either your fuel pump relay is overheating our your fuel pump is over heating. They also have the problem with the wire connector on top of the fuel pump melts. This is a known problem with them, when you but a new fuel pump they give you a new connector and a service bullentin regarding this problem.

Will not start

hello there friend. sounds like your hitting your head against the wall. :)
engines only need a few things to run..your task is to determine what is missing...1, they need fuel, to checked this attach a fuel pressure guage to se if geting at least about 40psi (cant remember spec)..if you have fuel pressure, check for spark at spark plug...remove plug and attach wire to plug, grounding it out against engine block ..away from any engine wireing as it can send a voltage spike through system causing further damages...if you have fuel, and you have spark, you must then check to see if you have ai..compresion to be exacy..remove spark plug and crank engine over..see if you can hear air hufing in and out of cylinder..if you have a compression guage install it, your pressures shoudl be within 10% of each other across all cylidners. if not you may have an inernal engine failure..there are many more questions..when and why did it stop running, how was it running prior to failure, etc... is the engine oil saturated with fuel from leaking injectors? this could cause the rings to wash out and not build up compression...i hope thuis helps you out...

92 GMC Jimmy Replaced fuel pressure and fuel filter, changed spark plugs and wires , no fuel pressure at valve, car will crank for 2-3 seconds then go dead

if you say you replaced the fuel pressure ? "regulator or pump" that was not very clear as to which so i am guessing and the filter but have no fuel to the fuel bar valve either you have no power to the pump or a clogged fuel line or a blown fuse or a short in the power suppluy to the fuel pump if you turn the key to on position without cranking it do you hear a slight humming noise if so the fuel pump is working ..if you do now hear this chances are as i stated above
the use of a test light is required to check for power to the pump as wel do you smell any gas =fuel lines are rotted .let ne know what you discover and check all your fuses

My 95 gmc jimmy will turn over but won't start.

Are you getting fuel and check for spark and if all is well, then move to your fuel pump and if checks out okay , ignition module and pick up module and coil have checked out .

When this truck dies, does it have spark,or fuel pressure?Check it for no spark,if it has no spark, replace the ignition module. These gm year models are bad to go out ,and the distributor pick up coil also.Replace the module first,if this does not help, replace the pick up coil.NOW ON A FUEL RELATED PROBLEMit could be fuel pump, fuel pump relay,or the pick up coil. The pick up coil pulses the injectors, and the spark.I hope this helps,if not let me know.
