You have a problem with your brake switch which is above the pedal, this will need to be replaced.

Brake and battery light on idle rmps jump

If the ABS brake light is on all the time, it could mean you simply forgot to release the parking (emergency) brake. The brake warning light remains on when the brake is set as a reminder. If the brake warning light remains on when the parking brake is released, then something is amiss.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The brake light won't go off

Your brake pedal switch is bad, causing the brake lights to remain on all the time. Have it replaced.

Brake lights stay on 1991 Lexus LS 400

Simple fix... Just replace the brake light switch. It is located on the brake pedal arm about 6 inches above the pedal, it will have a plug going to it as well.

Ford Escort 1997 brake lights wont go out even when engine is off

Check behind your brake pedal. I don't remember what the parts were called but the same thing happened to me. When you put your foot on the brake there is a plastic or rubber circle attached to the brake pedal that comes in contact with a switch. It causes the brake lights to come on. When you take your foot off the brake it turns the switch off and the brake light goes off. Over time this rubber or plastic circle gets worn and it is still in contact with the switch so it remains on. When this first happened to me I was able to adjust the switch so that the pad came completely away from the switch when I took my foot off the brake. The second time it happened I had to replace the pad on the pedal. I actually made my own because it looked like it was part of the pedal. I also had to replace the switch another time. The switch cost under $20.00 from a parts store.

1995 Buick Park Ave. Brake light remains ON and chimes on driving

The problem is the car think the park brake is on (intermittently). I would check the park brake switch, perhaps it's loose, or perhaps the park brake is pushed down to the first "click" spot. Also check the wiring connection to the switch, and the wiring nearby. Good luck!

Brake light will not go off when foot is removed from brake peddle. Brake switch on master cylender has been replaced....

Sounds like the brake pedal is not coming up far enough from the floor after being pressed thus causing the switch to remain activated even though pressure is not applied to the brake at the time.
