A/C compressor spins, but why is there no cold air?

You may need a shop manual to get the wiring diagrams and test procedures.
The ac compressor gets power from several sources and those would need to be checked. The control on the dash, the low and high pressure switches, the relay, and so on.
If the compressor is ok, you should be able to jumper the clutch like you did and feel one line cold and the other line warm if freon is flowing thru the system.

Ac relay not energizing

The engine computer commands the relay on based on input from the dash control and the ac pressure switch. You may need a shop manual to troubleshoot the circuits.

My AC compressor when I turn it on it does nothing no click clutch not engaging and AC light blinking on dash.

Pressure's down in system.Refill the system one can at a time of refrigerant. If one can fores the clutch and gets cold inside, good to go.Too much refrigerant will hamper the temperature and will stay low.Not cool.So one at a time.

HY MY NAME IS DUANE AND I NEED HELP FIGUREING OUT WHY MY AC WORKS GREAT IT'S BLOWS ICE COLD AND SOMETIMES IT BLOWS HOT IT JUST STARTED A FEW DAYS AGO WHAT DO THINK IT MIGHT BE? THAKS YOU

it may be that the clutch on the A/C compressor is faulty & sometimes it doesn't engage or it could be a wire is loose or a loose connector plug, next time it blows hot air when it should be cold lift the hood & make sure that the clutch on the A/C is engaged ......hope this helps......cheers.

Nothing happens when the ac switch is turned on, no cold air, clutch doesn't engage

Check fuses and AC relay, check system pressures with AC manifold gauges to determine system charge capacity. If it is below sensor limit on freon, the comp. clutch will not kick in. I hope this helps.

'98 Olds Intrigue, AC not working. It has a full charge of 134a and the compressor runs when the switch is pushed. The only odd thing is that the little orange light on the AC dash switch doesn't...

Check the fuses.

It is strange that the compressor engages when the button is on, but the light does not work.

Does cold air blow out the vents? If so, the light may have burned out...

A/C not blowing cold air

To be honest,A/C repairs should not be attempted by a novice. It could be overcharged, bad compressor & clutch,or electrical.

Air conditioning not working

the most likely cause of this lack of cold air is that the temperature control blend door motor actuator is defective, this part is located inside the dash, most require the dash to be removed to access the blend door and motor..

A/C is not blowing cold air and clutch on the compressor will not engage.

Most likley needs to be recharged. Shouldnt be low, but if it has ever been in an accident it may have a leak or your mechanic stole the refridgerant when it was cold outside and you didnt notice untill you turned the ac on.
