OH BOY, YOU DINT BEND A VALVE'S????? CHECK THE COMPRESSION ON IT. OTHER THEN THAT YOUR TIMING IF OFF BY A BIT. SIMPLE AS THAT. OR RUN A TIMING LIGHT ON IT TO SEE IT TOO. MOST LIKELY ITS OFF TIME. DONT WORRY IVE BEEN DOING TIMING BELTS FOR 17 YEARS AND I STILL MISS THE PERFECT DOTS AT TIMES AND END UP REDOING IT AGAIN FOR THE PERFECT DOTS. LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED THE DIAGRAPM OF THE TIMING MARKS. GOOD LUCK

Shudder and backfire from air intake when accelerating

sounds like the timing is off.. what engine is in your car? does it have a timing belt or chain? if its a belt it might have jumped a tooth and needs replaced. if its a chain then have the fuel pressure checked to be sure its at the correct pressure..

Back firing out of the intake is because the valves/cams are not set right. When you did the timing belt . did you set the crankshaft mark at top dead center of the compression stroke. If it's at the exhaust stroke this would cause backfiring and violent shaking.

When should I get the timing belt on my 2000 Toyota Corolla changed?

With all due respect, the answer that was provided above is incorrect. The 2000 Corolla does not have a timing belt. It has a timing chain. There is no routine maintenance on a timing chain.

I have a 2004 corolla and has a timing chain making noise , now i pull the timing cover out but forgot to align the marks, and i think i move my camshaft now i need to set the marks again , what u think

me think you um not give enough information.
You changed the belt?
Just reset it to tdc and align the marks like you were doing it for the first time.
If it is off a degree it will run. It will not run good.
Replace the tensioners when this done yes.
Align marks and reinstall.

backfire is a symptom of slipped valve timing. Remove timing cover and check camshaft timing marks. If you need instructions or have more question, please let me know.

Hi there. Sounds like the chain jumped a couple of teeth putting the valve timing out. Check timing marks on crank and cam. Check for slop in chain. If sloppy, replace.
Thanks
