YOUR ENGINE STRESSES ALOT AND OVERHEATS BURNS FUEL LIKE CRAZY, DOESNT HAVE POWER, BACK FIRES IF REALLY BAD. DOESNT ACCELRATE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON,.. WONT PASS SMOG BUT MOST MAJORLY WILL CAUSE ENGINE DAMAGED IF KEEPED ON RUNNING.

What would be the consequenses if I do not replace the bank 1 sensor 2, code p0140 on my 1999 buick lesabre and continue to drive it.

Either the sensor is bad or your catalytic converter is dead. If you keep driving it, worst thing that can happen is that the converter goes into a meltdown and clogs which will kill power and MPG.

Stops running going down highway, pull over wait and it will restart, happen twice now?

Could be fuel, catalytic converter/s, coil/s. If it never happens off the high way, Look at the catalytic converter/s.

Will my car stop running if the catalyic converter goes out

Hi Denis, The Catalytic converter can become blocked and if that happens the vehicle will eventually fail to start. I suggest having a diagnostic scan carried out on your vehicle if it is failing to start. Regards John

Does the catalytic converter has anything to do with the transmission

catalytic converter part is part of the exhaust system, torque converter part of transmission.if catalytic plugged car will only go 10 miles and hour, if you have torque converter problems car will stall out when you drive 30 miles and hour, when transmission goes in over drive, torque converter lock up.when you apply brakes torque converter suppose to unlock if not car will stall out when you come to a stop.

2002 mazda tribute how many converters?

Ford Escape and Mazda Tribute same engine same problem check out Catalytic Converter problems on both in the long run will have to replace all 3 of the converters may blow a hole in the EGR valve too. Go for after market parts will save you money and not going thru a dealership will help but expect to pay close tto $1,800 mostly due to labor to replace these parts. If you have a check engine light try going to Auto parts store and use their computer to check out code. Not getting this fixed will leave you stranded when it goes. Vehicle will suddenly bogg down and trust me when your doing 60 mph on the hwy. and suddenly this happens to you not a good feeling. Hope this helps.

I have a 1991 F250 4x4 with the 7.5 liter (460 cid). The catalytic converter has a hole in it, and I want to have it removed. The engine is fuel injected. The O2 sensor wire goes into the manifold BEFORE...

No it will not it will actually help the performance of your truck the catalytic converter is most likely clogged or blown out by this point anyways.

Why did the catalytic converter on my 2003 Toyota Highlander fail? How do I prevent this from happening again?

I had the same thing happen on a 2003 Corolla. The dealer said one possible cause was too much oil which was blown on to the fins in the catalytic converter causing damage. The catalytic converter is a pollution device so unless you need to pass an emissions test it may not be a factor.

Have had two catalytic converters go out in last 8 months

Catalytic converters should last the life of the vehicle. usually they are damaged be a poorly running engine. most common causes are lean misfire causing unburnt fuel and air to get into the convert and ignite there. coolant or oil burning. engine running too hot (lean) overheating converters.

was it the same converter that went twice? did they change them at the same time? where the pre-converters? is the engine light on?

Order the catalytic converter for that make and model and you will get the right size, assuming that the installation was done at the factory and has not been modified.
