Hi,

The best way to reset it is to press the valet switch which is on the R/H side of the steering column under the dash.

Do the following procedure:
1. Turn ignition switch to the ON position (II)
2. Then press the valet switch.

You should hear 2 chips and that is telling you that the alarm has disarmed.

Let me know how you get on, or if you need more information.

Thanks

Jason

    Now that don't sound good.

This could be a couple of things but it sounds like the engine is knocking which it can only come from the inside of the engine.

This means you could be looking at having to rebuild your motor.

    Hi,

How did you get on with the alarm problem and then the engine knocking problem?

The official way: Insert the ignition key in the Accord's driver-side door lock. Turn the key to the unlock position. Turn the key to the lock position. Turn the key back to the unlock position. The alarm should now be disabled.
Start your Honda Accord's engine and allow the vehicle to run for at least 10 minutes. This will allow the Accord to reset the alarm. When you're done, you can shut off the Accord and arm the system as usual.
The brute force way - disconnect the anti-theft module from power for 5 minutes .

Ive tried that but it still didnt work. But do u do it fast or wait till all the door locks unlock and lock

  • Azrael SRL Aug 04, 2010

    Lets make it more clearly:

Turn the key to unlock position, wait 5 seconds, turn the key to lock, wait 5 seconds, turn the key to unlock.
Otherwise you should try this: Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward all the way just before cranking. Then within 5 seconds, locate, press and hold in the valet/overide button, found under the dash area, (push button, spring loaded) until the installed LED (the blinking light) in your dash area goes on solid, and the siren chirps once. Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type. in this case, key on, flip switch in opposite direction, then turn the key off.
If even after that it doesn't work then the module is defective and must be replaced. That can be done only at the dealer.

one of the support for the engine/gearbox has failed. Get underneath the car and shake the engine - the damaged support will be clearly visible.

Hi! Please try this. Open the hood and remove the battery connectors then leave it for atleast 10mins. Put the battery connectors again then put the keys on ON position but dont crank it, leave it ON for 10secs. then turn it off. Start the car, this should reset the system. Hope this helps and have a good one!

The reset procedure is as follows:---

  • Insert the ignition key in the Accord's driver-side door lock.
  • Turn the key to the unlock position.
  • Turn the key to the lock position.
  • Turn the key back to the unlock position. The alarm should now be disabled.
  • Start your Honda Accord's engine and allow the vehicle to run for at least 10 minutes. This will allow the Accord to reset the alarm. When you're done, you can shut off the Accord and arm the system as usual.
Repeat the procedure if not helped for first time.
Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.
