Question about 1994 Chrysler Concorde

1 Answer

There was oil in the cylinder on the front left plug, the rest of the plugs were clean. Can't detect if fuel is getting to the injection (bad filter, bad pump)? Would like to know how to test the ignition coil?

Cylinder 2 misfire and low fuel detected again and again seems there are issues with minis and this problem? I am reading thru other posts is there any quick fix?

Usually the mystery misfire on a single cylinder is a bad distributor wire. It can sometimes be seen arcing to ground at night & sometimes you can see a small pin head sized discoloration on the wire. It could also be oil around a spark plug needing the surrounding rubber seals replaced. Take it apart & figure it out. Good luck

If it is not firing on one cylinder, check and eventually replace distributor rotor, or electronic injection module.
Check also for camshaft problems.

Rear spark plug bank is fouled. The 3 in front are fine. What cold be the problem?

I am assuming it is oil fouled rather than fuel fouled. Oil fouling is usually due to valve stem seal leakage. Most engines have the oil return on the cylinder head at the rear. When the engine is shut off, some oil pools at the rear of the head. If the valve guide seals are worn, then the oil will leak around the stem of the #4 valve and eventually foul the plug. If there are no real issues with the engine other than this one, it is usually best to keep a clean plug or two available and swap out the plug periodically when fouling is detected. Then clean the fouled one and keep for reuse later. If it is happening too often, getting the cylinder head reconditioned is a good idea.

P0300 and P0303 misfire codes 2004 Isuzu Rodeo 3.5L

so missfire detected and cylinder 3 missfire detected.
check to see injector pulse with "noide light" if ok injector is problem
remove fuel rail and injectors look into top of injector for blockage in screen filter in injector if blocked clean out or injector carby places can remove this screen replace it and test injectors and clean or just buy new injectors. make sure to clean out fuel rail and change fuel filter also.
if noide light flashes irratic or not at all wiring issue, check for power on one wire with ignition on 12v other is earthed by ecu when opened to inject fuel. other thing that can cause problem on cylinder is tappet clearance "shims" too tight, could do compression test to see if compression is low on cylinder or a cylinder leakage test to see if valves are leaking. broken valve spring. valves do not hit piston on these engines even if cam belt breaks, they are a "free wheeling" engine

What do I do if I smell gasoline in the oil?

It is good that you have detected this problem. Gas in the oil is detrimental to the life of the engine. The oil is contaminated and probably thinned out.

But it will happen shortly again if you do not find the cause. Most likely you have fuel injectors that are leaking. A bleed-down test could confirm the problem if the integrity of the rest of the fuel system allows it. Sometimes fuel pressure is too high and beyond the ability of the injectors to close off completely.

Testing costs money and finding the 1 bad injector out of 4 or 6 cylinders is often more expensive than just replacing all of the injectors. You can try to remove sparkplugs after the engine has set overnight and see if one plug is wet. But the fuel may not run down on the sparkplug or you can have an intermittent problem and the engine seals just before testing and you miss it.

There are different injection systems and I am not familiar whether you have throttle body injection(one or two injectors) or the port injection for each cylinder. Some older Models could even pass Emissions with Carburetors. An internal leak in a Carburetor would give you the same problems.

You do need to get the bad oil out of the engine, but it will quickly be contaminated if you do not fix the cause. The white smoke can be moisture, but not necessarily from an engine defect; the new gasahol fuel attracts water.

Please rate my info. Check autoparts sites for pictures of your injectors. Autozone,Advance, Oreilys to name a few.

WHEN HIT GAS PEDAL BLACK SMOKE COMES OUT OF MY TAIL PIPE

look at spark plugs and make sure they are good and not worn (improper burning of fuel) also note which plug came from what cylinder, If all plugs are same color then you have a rich burn of fuel and not enough air mixture, if a few plugs are dark and the rest look clean and light brown then do a dry compression check on cylinders, if any cylinder is low on compression then proceed to do a wet compression check on cylinders, if they increase on compression then you have bad or worn piston rings which would burn oil causing smoke as well.

I have a 95 s10 4.3 vortec with no power to the injectors i have repalaced the pump and did a pressure test 60 psi new filter new oil sensor new fuel regulator but cant find the problem everything works ...

First, after cranking the starter, have your pulled a spark plug to verify spark and fuel to the cylinder. If the plug is dry, the injectors are not working. If the plug is wet, no spark. You can verify spark by taking the spark plug and putting the spark plug wire back on it, lay the plug down and crank the starter. If it's getting voltage, a spark can be seen ar the end of the plug. Assuming that you have done the tests and determined that the cylinders are not getting fuel, that would indicate a bad fuel injection unit. If found defective, the fuel injection unit must be replace as a whole. This consists of the pressure regulator, fuel meter body, injector, and poppet nozzles and lines, sometimes referred to as the "spider injectors" because of the configuration. All of this resides under the upper air intake plenum, which would have to be removed.

2003 mercedes Benz C240 codes P0300, P0301, P0302 and P0303. Please, help me how to fix?.

P0300 Random Misfire Detected
P0301 Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected
P0302 Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
P0303 Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected
according to this fault codes first mark ignition coils
3 ---------------- 6
2 ---------------- 5
1 ---------------- 4
RB-------------LB
this right banks and left bank, please remove Ignition coils with lids and spark plugs from right bank and swap with left bank, if fault code change as
P 0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected
P 0305 Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected
P 0306 Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected
You can Identify it's a faulty ignition system then next swap ignition lids from ignition coils be careful each coils have two lids one short and other long bit deference and when you remove and fix it to the car keep in mind correct order because each coil two different fire for two spark plugs don't mix up, if you mix it can create the fault code.if you detect any fault ignition coils or spark plugs or lids replace that and also whether god or bad recommend to replace spark plugs, find the right that's most important thing, if this way couldn't found the any ignition fault next step is check fuel presser, when the engine running fuel presser must be around 4.5 bar without engine running must be 4 to 6 bar if the fuel presser too low need to check two different things one is fuel pump other is fuel injectors, in this case you can swap injectors from right bank to left bank and find is the injectors leaking, if not leaking faulty fuel pump.is this information helped you? if yes please leave a comment,

How to repair nissan serena 2002 model qr20 engine rougth idle

Things to check
Plugs;
Remove the spark plugs and read them, they should all have a dry tip and be clean from any carbon, oil or fuel.
Usually if burning fuel properly they will have a brown or whitish looking tint from burned carbon.

If any of the plugs look wet or black or dirty looking different from the others the problem is with that cylinder, change all the plugs and see if that helps, the next lease expensive thing is replacing the plug wires. If your fouling plugs ask your parts store for 1 number hotter plug ( heat range)

Plug Wires;
Open the hood at night with the engine running and see if you find any blue looking arcing around or in the wires, if so replace the wires.

Fuel Injectors
If all above looks good your fuel injectors might be dirty or one might not be working. You could try an injector cleaner mixed in with your gas

A rough idle comes from one or more cylinders not firing as hard as the others or not at all, there are so many causes for this so you have to troubleshoot with the lease expensive fix first.

Another thing is water in the gas, you can pour plain ole rubbing alcohol in your gas tank if you suspect water in your gas. alcohol mixes with the water and makes it burn instead of mis firing.

Valves
One more thing that can cause rough idle is your valves, this requires a compression check on each cylinder. If one cylinder has less compression than the rest remove the compression tester and squirt some engine oil in the cylinder then re test, if the compression increases it is bad rings or a bad cylinder bore, if not it is a valve problem.

Oil seals around the piston increasing the compression temporarily while testing but makes no difference in testing if the valves are leaking.

Good Luck,... troubleshooting and patience, or a good mechanic is the solution if you are working with neither
