1988 4x4 Toyota pickup 22re motor where is the fuel filter?

Good day,

The fuel filter in the 1988 4X4 Toyota truck is located in front and above the fuel tank on the right hand side of the truck,
If u desire to change the fuel filter you have to lay under the truck on the passenger side and reach up past the filler hose and there you will find the fuel filter fitted with two bolts on opposite sides across the filter.

Thanks for using fixya..

I bought a new horn for my 88 toyota pickup. I put the ground wire on the metal af the truck and then attach the hot wire. the horn sounds while im not pushing the button. then i switch the wires every...

Most vehicles have a horn relay, which should be in a fuse box under the hood. Toyota is usually pretty good at identifying the various relays and fuses in the fuse box. If your original horn was shorted, it very well could have welded the contacts in the horn relay together. Also an aftermarket horn could be drawing more amperage than an original equipment unit, causing the fuse to burn. This last statement is purely conjecture.

My horn is broken on my 1987 toyota pickup 4x. I cleaned the contacts on the stearing weal and it still doesn't work.

Have you verified that the horn is actually good? They do go bad from time to time. Also the horn itself may have a bad ground. To be clear i am reffering to the actual horn not the parts in the steering column.

Where is the horn relay located on the 1988 Toyota pick-up?

Toyota does not use a relay for horn operation. Power to the horn is provided by the 15 amp Haz-Horn fuse. The horn operation is controlled by ground through the horn switch (button) on the steering wheel.

Horn does not work

THE HORN MAY BE BAD. HORN FAIL FROM AGE & LONG PERIODS OF NON USE. TRY PUTTING BATTERY POWER RIGHT TO THE HORN. IF NO SOUND OR VERY POOR RESPONSE, GET A NEW HORN. IF IT SOUNDS LIKE A HORN, CHECK THE HORN FUSE WITH A TESTER, " THERE SHOULD BE POWER ON BOTH SIDES OF THE FUSE. IF THE FUSE IS GOOD, PULL THE STEERING WHEEL, THERE MAY BE A WORN BRASS CONTACT STICKING UP. PUT A WIRE FROM THAT CONTACT TO SOME METAL UNDER THE DASH, IF THE HORN WORKS YOU WILL HAVE TO WORK ON THAT CONTACT OR MAYBE THE HORN BUTTON ON THE STEERING WHEEL

!990 toyota truck horn died. fuse is o.k. how do i fik it?

It sounds like the actual speaker may have died. First locate the speaker which is usually behind the bumper in front of the radiator. It usually looks like one or two disks visible from above the radiator when the hood is open. First you probably want to check to make sure the wiring harness is still properly attached. If it is, you will most likely have to replace it. Which is easy. You can pick up all kinds of generic horns at your local car parts store. You may also be able to order a replacement one. From there it is just a matter of unplugging the old horn, taking off a couple screws and putting the new one in.

I believe they are mounted on the front side of the core support, behind the grille, to the left side of the hood latch.

Have a 1988 hilux. The fuel gauge shows the fuel level even when the ignition is off. Otherwise it seems to work fine.

Toyota fuel gauges from that time were actually meant to work like that! It's not drawing power from your battery with the ignition off, the needle just stays at the last reading.
