Question about 2002 Jaguar X-Type

Open Question

Hi all, I have a 2.0 V6 Jaguar X-Type, and I am getting my EML (engine management light) and it is going into 'limp mode' and only revving to 3k rpm, until I get over 50mph and keep it there for some time. I have got codes: P0172, P0175, P0420 and P1111 - PLEASE help - as the Diagnostics people and the garage apparently have no clue what they are doing - and I am already many 100's of ££££'s out of pocket :-(.

SOURCE: check engine light code p1603

When I went outside to start my Jaguar X-Type it was cold outside. I was in a hurry and didn't let the car warm up properly. It jumped a bit then the check engine light came on along with a message that said No cruise control. The no cruise light came off but my check engine light is still on. Any suggestions as to what it may be?

Engine management light reset

The car is trying to tell you something - limp mode is there to protect the engine if a serious problem is detected. Stop driving it and get someone out to scan the codes and diagnose this.

the car is in restricted mode...you must have the ecm codes read to see why its in restricted performance mode..it sounds like a vacuum leak which is causing a knock or misfire

S TYPE 2001 Wont go beyong 3000 Revs

No, You have a high pressure fuel system. Things are not that simple anymore.
You need to get it checked properly as the fault is in the engine managment system.
The limp mode is the car protecting itself from you and allowing you to get home. Thats it.

BMW (e39 1999) eml and asc lights and in limp mode

Check the ABS brake sensors in your wheels, if they are not functioning properly. It will trigger the computer to engage the ASC auto stability control light as the asc uses the brakes to assist in control. I will also engage the EML engine management light to slow the rev point to limp mode

Eml on my mini coopers

the engine control unit has detected a fault light illuminated which in turn reduces ability to gain high revs as a damage limitation exercise , known as limp home , car requires diagnostic computer to check fault codes to indicate faulty component causing ecu to go into limp home mode
