the solenoid is on the starter, the wire is the small one that is by itself, that is the signal wire, when u turn the key to spring loaded start position and hod it there the wire I just mentioned should light up a 12 volt test light, you can buy a 12 volt test light from any auto parts store for about $3-$4, Kragen has them as well as Autozone and others like Napa, Sears sells thems well I think, pick one up and run the test for me

also make sure the battery is good and the battery cables are clean and tight, there are ALLOT of reasons for this condition, so this is a job that requires methodical diagnosis and testing to resolve

Park neutral safety switch maybe be the reason for the no crank ! Try putting the vehicle in park ,then try to crank the engine . Testing the electrical circuit is the best way to trouble shoot this problem , along with do a voltage drop test on the starter circuit ! This will test the battery cables an connections .
Starter Voltage Drop
How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit
Does it have a manual or automatic transmission ? Manual ? clutch switch . Looking at a wiring diagram I also see a starter cut relay !

My Honda accord 97 when turn key only goes click

You should have a Starter Relay which connects the power from the battery to the starter. Unless your battery is low, the starter is frozen, or an Antitheft device is active, the Relay must be bad.
Taking car to have the car in neutral if a manual trans or Park if an automatic trans, you can jump the power across the bad relay with a single battery cable jumper and crank the engine. If the engine turns over, you know the relay is bad.

I have a 1997 Honda Accord ... the battery is okay ... it won't click or turn over ... the Hazard Lights are on continuously ... the car will start with a rolling start (it is a manual transmission)...

Hi, have you tried to bypass the interlock switch on the clutch pedal arm? Just ground the blue wire. also check the 50 amp fuse #42. if not that, the starter relay may be bad or possibly the starter itself. To check the starter, please read my post here: http://www1.fixya.com/cars/r6222268-engine_doesnt_crank_turn_over

1997 Honda Accord, 4 cyl, auto trans. When I turn

The starter sit on top I belive on the passenger side above the transmission, have some one hold the key to start while you tap or even hit the starter some time it will crank over if it does replace it, not that big of a job. If it still dont start there a big wire that one comes from the battery and a small one that come from you ignition switch ( key ) jump those two wire's ( if stander transmission make sure you have it out of gear ) there should be voltage at big wire all the time, if it still dont crank over replace starter assembly.Hope this was very helpful.

Sounds like fuel problem.Check fuel pressue, make sure pressure is up to specs. If not, change fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator may be bad.
