Question about 1990 Isuzu Trooper

Open Question

Isuzu Trooper, 1990, 2.8L - 6V, Manual Transmisson. Milage 140.000 miles.  Problem: Engine starts when cold and climb to high rpm and gradually goes down to 800 rpm. When it’s hot stalls on idle and than it’s hard to start. Can‘t hold idle. Immediately stops.. Will not start when is hot. I have replaced head gaskets, inlet manifold gaskets and all exhaust gaskets. Also new thermostat. New spark plugs. New parts in ignition distributor. (3000 miles ago). Fuel pump gives right pressure 11 PSI (Manual requires 9 - 13 PSI). Fuel filter clean. PCV valve and EGR valve are working properly. Vacuum lines seems to be OK. Oil engine and filter recently changed. Valves are not burnt - nice and clean. I’m getting code 51 - Make sure MEM-CAL or PROM is properly installed in the ECM or replace them. How to fix ECM problem? Can I get good used ECM and where and for how much? What should be resistance (Ohms) of Coolant Temp Sensor at 25 Celsius and at 100 Celsius? Maybe it's foulty? Please advise what to do?

2002 isuzu trooper looses power on climbing, not responding to acceleration

Is the transmission dropping down to lower gear when climbing ? (automatic only ) Will it accelerate good to pass on level road?
Proper fuel pressure, and possible exhaust restriction, such as partially plugged/plugged catalytic converter, are 2 things I would check as well. All provided engine is also in good shape to begin with.

check for a vaccuum leak this is where i would start if it rolled into my shop. possibly a PCV valve sticking or a hole in the hose, this hose should run from the valve cover, or crank case and then to the intake, or carb.

Have a code p0401 how do u fix it , I know it has something to do with the egr system but I,m not sure where its located on my trooper, engine size is 3.5 v6

I have a 2000 Isuzu Trooper that had a PO401 code that would reset and then 2 miles later the light was on again - I found if you remove the EGR valve and start the engine that the engine should idle rough - If it doesnt and you have vacumn at the intake port spray carb cleaner down the port slowly and see how long it takes for the engine to run rough - Keep spraying till the engine dies and spray some more down the passage and let the engine set for 5 minutes and then restart the engine - it will run rough at first but clear out - you should be able to feel the engine RPM change when you put your finger over the intake vaccumn port for the egr - If not then repeat the cleaning method again - If you do feel the rpm change then put the egr valve back on and clear the code and run your drive cycle to see if it is fixed.

98 Isuzu Trooper stalls on cold start, idle issues..

I had the same issue on my 99 Trooper.

It would usually start when completely cold, but idle around 2k RPM.
It would drive fine. But if I shut it down, ran into a store, and came back out, it would start but immediately idle.
Had to ride the gas a little to get it into gear.
The Check Engine light has been going on and off for 6 months or so.

I took this to my local trusted repair shop (no Isuzu dealers within 200 miles).
The diagnosed the light, and found that the Intake Gaskets were bad or leaking.
The idling problem was related to the car not being able to control the amount of air coming in.

They replaced the Intake gaskets by the next day, and I haven't had a problem since. And no more check engine light, which has been on half a year.

Here's some details from my bill:
(1) Intake Gasket set $107.95
Misc materials $21.00
2.1 hours of Labor

The total cost to me was $345.00, and I definately don't feel gipped.
