Question about Kia Optima
To get the side door light to go off you can normally spray the area around the latch in the door liberally with WD40 or similar spray lubricant. If you can start the car and there's no power then the problem is not likely to be related to the electrical system in your car or the door jamb switch. Look for a hole or leak in the air hoses between the air filter box and the motor. Try taking the air filter completely out to see if it runs better (if it runs better buy a new filter). Look very carefully for a hole or soft spot on the rubber hoses between the PCV valve and the motor. If this is not the problem you may just need a tuneup with new plugs, wires and possibly replacement to coil pack modules.
