When engine gets to operating temperature noise from timing belt area whooo whooo, any ideas?

Sounds like water pump! If it was last changed 60k when timing belt done could need doing! If not timing belt tensioner! When timing belt is done it is good practice to replace water pump and belt tensioners at the same time!

1991 ACURA LEGEND MAKES SQUEALING NOISE WHILE DRIVING

If you think the noise is coming from the engine, you could take each belt off one at a time and run the engine to see if the noise stops.

When do you know that you need the timing belt change in a ford aspire 1995 model if you don't have the history of the car?

Honestly there is no way with out the maintence history. The timing belt is located under a cover bolted to the front of the motor. Typically the belt is replaced between 60,000 and 100,000 miles pending on what the OEM recomends. You could try to contact your local Ford dealer's service or parts dept. If you give them the VIN number for your vehicle (located on the dash or on the drivers door) they should be able to look up the maintence history for that vehicle done at the dealer. If the belt was replaced by the dealer they would have the record of it. Otherwise, your only other option is to take the timing belt cover off and inspect to see if it is worn out, but if your going to go thru that hastle, you might as well replace the belt anyway.

I am looking to buy a 2002 4 cyl Highlander with 97,000 miles. What has to be done at 100,000 mikes? Timing Belt?

Your timing belt should have been done at 60,000, make sure it has, ask the owner if you can. If not, Get it done. I wouldn't risk it. While you have the front of the engine off, replace the belt tensioner and the water pump. Are you sure this has a belt? If it has a chain, don't worry about, just change the oil. Check the belts, fluids, might change the filter in the tranny. And fill up the battery. Should be OK.

How can you tell if you timing belt was already done on a 1999 audi a4 2.8.?

unfortunately there is no official way to tell if a timing belt was done, even a belt a few months old shows signs of wear (teeth)....unless you are able to find out the service history, my very strong advice is to adhere to the timing belt motto..."if in doubt, do it anyway", as the breakage of the timing belt could mean serious consequences, if not,m thousands of dollars of damage.......save yourself, and if you cannot do it yourself, invest the money to have it done.

93 camry 3.0L V6 timing belt

Hello, and welcome to FixYa. Yes, you can drive the car to the shop without fear of any internal engine damage.

Your engine is not an "interference' engine; your valves will not be damaged if the belt slips a tooth or two. In fact, any Toyota engine with a timing belt is a non-interference engine.

Thanks for choosing FixYa for assistance.

Signs to look for for time to get timing belt looked at. I have just purchased a second hand Hyundai 1993 excel sprint (maual transmission) but service record doesn't show any replacement being done on...

look at mileage. the replacement of the timing belt needs to be done at 60,000 miles. you risk severe damage if this is not done. these belts costs around $300-400 to do.

Mitsubishi eclipse convertiable timing belt change?

Typical timing belt intervals are every 60k miles. It's a very involved service to do the whole job - timing belt, timing belt tensioner, serpentine or accessory belts, water pump, thermostat, spark plugs, all fluids, all filters, brake and suspension inspection, and tire rotation. On many cars it's recommended to change the oxygen sensors as well. Quite a bit of this can be done when you want, but the first five items are critical and should all be done. And regardless of whether your manufacturer says the coolant is "lifetime", replace it - don't reuse coolant. It's cheap and it's good practice to use new coolant.
