Sounds like a problem related to the a/c compressor clutch, or that the freon level is too low, and it is starting to damage the internals of the compressor. If when it works with no noise, it is not cooling the cabin, then the compressor is definitely shot. i have seen in a few instances that taking apart the compressor, cleaning it, and replacing the oil, it reduces or stops the clattering.

Gurgling noise in enjine

There's some air in the system somewhere. Park it uphill, cold, open the cap and run it and fill it at the same time.

Mine makes a bit of this noise sometimes. It runs fine and I don't worry much about it.-------------------------------------------------------

Change both rotor last month 2006 f150 started making noise thinking about changing lower balljoints.

Well depending on the noise. If it makes a squeel, chatter, or grind thats the brakes. If it makes a nasty THUNK if you stop or accel hard or sometimes while your turning then I would say the ball joints. Changing them on a f150 is a pretty easy task either way.

I have 1996 Kia Sephia. When the air conditioner is on, the power steering doesn't work about half of the time and the car makes a squealing noise when turning, starting, and sometimes when idling....

Loose belt-tighten or worn idler pulley bearings.Tighten belts first and if the squeel is still there remove belt and check all pulley bearings.Grab the pulley by hand and give it a wriggle-there shouldn't be any play axially

What does a BELT DRIVE CLIMATE COMPRESSOR do for a 528i bmw 1997

It has to be referring to the compressor for the air conditioner, but that is a very unusual name for it.
On a '97 318, there will often be a loud chatter when the compressor kicks on that is sometimes misdiagnosed as a failing compressor. In reality, most times it is the tensioner pulley on the belt.

I have a `92 ford bronco xlt with a 351w and the e4od. when i`m driving down the road and let off the gas, i get a very loud chattering noise. it doesnt do it all the time but if im coasting and i shift...

A few months back, if you remember, did you hear a "squeak squeak " that got faster as you picked up speed, then went away as you went over 25 to 30 mph? if so replace your universal joints on drive shaft.

Air conditioner problem 2001 Dodge Pickup

Hello, It sounds like your hot/cold blend door actuator is either hanging up at times or it's loosing it's calibration range because it's starting to go bad. The ticking noise is most likely the actuator trying to close off the hot air port but is unable to stay closed allowing hot air to mix with the cold. If it's just a weak blend door actuator, it will act up more when the air is on full because it has more resistance due to air flow. If possible try to see if the times it acts up decreases when you start the A/C with low fan speed.

Help! Air conditioner causes squeal soon after turned on

The ac is belt driven, If one of the belts are loose it will make a squealing noise. Turning on the air puts more strain on the belts. If this is the case all you would have to do is tighten the belt or belts. This would probably take a service tech just a few minutes. Probably under $100.00 dollars..........

RE: 2001 Nissan Altima air conditioner

Sounds to me like you need the alternator idler pulley. Look at it and see if it has a big washer covering portion of the pulley, or if the washer is inside the pulley. If its inside, than you have an old pulley. Replace it with the one, that has the big washer in the middle of pulley. You do have another idler for the A/C compressor. Those I have seen fail also. But 80% of the time its the alternator idler pulley.
