If the year of your van is 1995 or before, it's has R12 freon, if after 1995 it has 134a freon.

2009 Nissan Rouge AC stop blowing cold air. The fan blows but just not cold. The AC motor compressor seems not to turn on. Is there a fuse to check and where can I find it?

You are low on coolant. It needs to be recharged. The pump won't come on if it's low on coolant in order to protect the system as the coolant contains oil to lubricate the system. You can buy do it yourself recharge systems for relatively cheap or go to a shop.

Air not blowing

You just need a recharge.Go to an auto parts store and get a single can of R12 and the recharge line.Find the fitting on the AC line that the recharge line fits on(there's 2 but only fits 1)and hook the end on the can then on the fitting.THEN screw the puncture screw into the can lid to puncture the top of can, then turn that screw back out to release the Freon into the line and into system. To be sure you get all the Freon out of the can, stick the can in a small bucket of hot water while it's recharging your system. That's an old timers trick I use and it works.Once empty, remove the line from the fitting on the system first, remove the can from the line and save the recharge line.Ya may need it again one day.Engine must be running with AC on full when recharging the system.Stay Cool dude.

Recharge ac

first thing is make sure the vehicle is in park, and emergency brake applied. next start your vehicle and let it get up to normal operating temperature. third turn hot/cold selector all the way to coldest. fourth turn the blower selector to MAX A/C double check its on MAX A/C and temp to coldest. the vehicle must be running for the a/c compressor to engage. when it does engage set on MAX it will cycle continuous which is needed to charge the system..
Okay so vehicles running, up to operating temp, A/c on max, cold knob to coldest.. your ready to charge the system! the kit you purchsed tells the

WHEN I SPEED MORE 70 MPH THE AC STARTS BLOWING HOT AIR FOR 10 SEC0NDS END THEN GO BACK TO COOL AIR.

Sounds like a leak in the Compresser lines and you lost some freeon. You need to have somone service the air conditioning system.Ford also has cutout switches on compresser on some models so when you call for full throttle it shuts off air momentarily so you have full power to pass someone.See if you truck has this switch.More than likly you need a system recharge.

We bought this van and it had been sitting for a year. everything checked out ok but the air conditioner will not put out cold air. does the van sitting that long affect the performance of the air...

The coolant used in ACs has very small molecules and no system remains tight enough to prevent loss. You probably only need to recharge it if it has not been opened. You can buy a kit with pressure gauge, coolant, connection hoses and instructions for <$25 US in auto parts stores. Make sure though that your system uses R134 coolant (especially if it is older) otherwise you may need a conversion kit to install first.

AC blows hot air when i stop at an intersection or slow down.

Try cleaning the condenser located in front of the radiator , with either a garden hose or compressed air. If this doesn't cure the problem then have your a/c system checked for leaks and recharged.

My 1996 Lincoln Town car heater works but you cannot control the temperature and the air conditioner blows out hot air when turned on.What could be the cause of this problem?

To fix the AC unit which blows hot air all the time. Seems like you have a small leak in the system or the AC compressor has gone out. Suggest you try recharging the unit. Make sure you have the correct R-22 or 134A freeon. If this work for a few days then have the leak fixed, if this doesn't work replace the compressor. Check Ebay for the compressor i obtained one for $100.00. Cost $450 at Auto Zone.
