Question about 2007 Mitsubishi Raider LS

Open Question

We have a 2007 mitsubishi raider 6 cylider pick up, and the engine skips sometimes at high speed, have brought it back to the dealer who cannot find the problem, engine light has gone on (p0202 and p0206 fuel inj. 2 and 6 open circuit) but the dealer still has not been able to find the problem or experience the skipping. I was wondering if any other owners have had this issue and if it was resolved.

SOURCE: cannot control engine rpm mitsubishi lancer engine

Your IACV idle air control valve has gone bad . When you put the car in gear does it take off and accelerate to about 50 MPH without touching the gas pedal ? Had the same problem. Part from Mitsubishi is about $435 PN # MR578268. It is about $30 to $50 dollars on any other car. If this is the problem, the IACV is located on the throttle body and is held on with three screws. I purchased the whole throttle body at a salvage yard for $40, took the IACV off and put it on my throttle body. Car works normal for now, I am looking for another spare. If enough people complain to MItsubishi and www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov

2. Fasten yo belt to cancel any chiming that may confuse you
3. Place the key into the ignition turn to on pos. do not start
4. Press and hold the UNLOCK button on the key fob.
5. After holding the UNLOCK button for four seconds, also press the PANIC button within 6 seconds.
6 When a single chime is heard release both buttons. The chime is an indication that you have successfully entered program mode. All transmitters that are to be programmed must be done so within 60 seconds of when the chime was heard.

I have a 2007 Raider pickup and it will need an oil chang and service soon' and the dealer that I brought it from went out of business here in St George, UT. ( LEGACY SUBARU ) and I would like to know if...

It depends on what warranty you are referring to. If you bought it new then yes, another Mitsubishi dealership will honor the manufacturer's warranty. If however, you bought it used from the Subaru dealer then whatever warranty he offered you may be gone. Mitsubishi should still honor their Mfg warranty on the vehicle for the 5 years though. Keep changing the oil, etc. as per the owner's manual to keep the warranty in effect. Good luck.

Where is the AIT sensor located on a 2007 Mitsubishi Raider?

The AIT sensor is located inside the large black plastic box on top of the engine. There is a 2-wire plug connector that plugs into the driver side of this box that connects the sensor wires. Mods simply remove the plug and attach the new AIT diode to the plug without plugging it back into the black box. Note: Your check engine light will stay on and not much improvement (if any) to performance. I took mine back out and restored back to stock. Don't waste your money on gadgets for the AIT.
