Will the temperature rise up to the red if you do not take off? 1- did you ever get the cooling system serviced? . 2- get a radiator flush and follow instructions on the bottle 3-if it did not get better take your thermostat out and replace it with a new one. 4- if still not good check your radiator you may have to replace it,before you do it with the car at normal operating temperature the engine off ignition key off check and see if the temperature on the radiator it self is the same on top and bottom if it is not replace the radiator . caution never open the radiator cap with the car hot. hope it solves your problem.

Blue temperture lights comes on while driving

It means the engine is still cold or it hasn't reached the proper temperature due to a faulty engine thermostat.

Temperture keeps rising when im only driving a few miles goes to 70 in ten mins and then goes to 90 and then goes back down, last night my car felt like it had lost power ,when i drove it this morning it...

Sounds like the thermostat is gone in the cooling system, when this goes it does not allow cooler water from the radiator to be exchanged for the hot water around the engine block.the reason you lost power is because the pistons got too hot and started to expand in the block, eventually this will lead to your engine ceasing totally and thats a new engine you would need. it may seem a little slower because you may have damaged piston rings in the engine.my advice is get the thermostat checked out and dont drive the vehicle untill this is fixed or else it may cease up

Just had thermostat changed .......temperture gauge goes all the way up then slowly comes back to normal range..no heat in car

As I have written many times if your car is otherwise running fine, do not replace the thermostat and hope that it somehow fixes your heater core. In your case it actually sounds like you put a bad thermostat in and it is not opening at the correct temperature, but much higher. It could be possible that you put it in upside down and therefore the temperature on the outlet side has to be high enough to open it. On a car that new your core should still be good. I would pay a dealer to take a look at it there could be some common problem with the flap that lets the cool air being stuck in the full open position.

Radiator hose blew, replaced it,now engine keeps overheating. Start it up... she runs normal, mile down the road the temperture gage rises to the H car stops running

first make sure there is not any air in the cooling system by running with radiator cap off and keeping coolant level full, but it sounds as if you have a blown head gasket. sure signs are consistant over heating, loss of coolant with no evidence of leak, or smoke out of tail pipe with a bitter sweet smell to it.

Temperture guage goes from 180 to 260 and bounces back and forth. The service engine soon stays on constant. The check guage light goes on and off when the temperture goes red line.

The check engine light is operating correctly as the computer reads a spike in temperature range in the engine. Your problem is more than likely a bad thermostat. I have seen times when a bad or loose radiator cap would cause the same symptoms. If the radiator cap has been removed recently it could be that it is just not on correctly. Make sure you check this only when your engine is cold. Hope this helps you out

1996 Jetta appears to overheat but no coolent loss

the temp sensor is the trigger for the fans!!
the thermostat may be in upside down??
check new thermostat in a pot of water & heat it up watch that it opens up when it heats up should be at aroun 96 degrees F
otherwise the radiator may need a good clean out or a recore!
there my be a blocked water gallery so engine may need a flush aswell
Cheers Rob

Temp gauge goes up when stopped and goes back down when cruising.

Your thermostat is either defective or your cooling fan is not engaging on the right tempertures (sensor)
