I'm having the same problem on my 1995 Honda Accord.  I hit a bump hard last night, and my dash lights, tail-lights, license-plate lights, and the bell which 'bing's when the door is open and the headlights are on all stopped working.  The fuse for "Small lights" under the hood was blown.  Replaced it, turned on headlights, and it blew again instantly.
I'm guessing that I have a wire crossed (possibly inside the bulb itself) in the dash somewhere;  I checked the taillights and license-plate liights already.

Good luck!  I'll let you know how my fix goes.

I just finished solving the problem on my own car:  the wire for illumination for the (after-market) stereo was not connected, and was touching on a metal bracket, shorting the circuit and blowing the fuse every time I turned on the headlights, so no taillights or dashboard illumination.

I taped the offending wire, and replaced the 15A fuse for "Small Lights" under the hood.  Works perfectly now.
I bet yours is a similar problem.  It could be one of many wires, there are quite a few on that circuit.  You would need to trace every light that isn't working and examine to see if looks right.  Also, the light themselves can be a problem, shorting out INSIDE THE BULB.  They should be checked, replaced if necessary.  The ones that are somewhat difficult to access are the ones in the dash, so I would save those for last.  Rear view, then license plate, then shifter illumination, then radio illumination, and then the dashboard illumination.  In order of difficulty to access, in my opinion.

I hope that helps, good luck!

I could kiss you! I threw a decent amount of money at a new dimmer switch, fuses, multi switch, ect

SOURCE: 1991 honda accord tails and dash lights went out

Start with your fuses: Fuses are in two areas. In the interior fuse box (left kick panel, below the dash--fuse chart on the cover) and in the engine compartment fuse box (far upper left as you face the car: fuse chart on the cover). Tail/Brake lights are combined with the Horn fuse in the engine compartment box. The fact that both taillights are out as well as the dash does not suggest the bulbs, but anything is possible. Tail light bulbs are accessed from inside the trunk compartment.
Hope this is of some help

My brake lights dont work but the tail lights come on when I turn on the headlights.

Check fuses first. Should be a fuse labeled 'Stop' or 'Brake'.

If fuses are good, climb under the dash and look at the brake switch, it's high up on the brake lever. Make sure it is operated by pressing in the brake pedal.

I have a 1998 honda accord. the tail lights work but when i hit the brakes the lights dont get brighter

the tail lights and stop lights are two separate bulbs or elements. You either have a blown stop light fuse or you need to replace the stop light bulb.

hope this helps.

1998 honda accord, with the headlights on the tail lights are on but turn signals do not work. if head lights are off turn signals work unless i apply the brake, if i apply the brake the brake lights work...

It sounds as if you have a bad earth to either one or both of your rear light clusters. If it only happens when you indicate in one direction then that is the offending side.
