It is probably left-hand threads, meaning turning it clockwise will loosen it. This may sound silly but, if you can see any of the threads from straight above....if threads run "downhill" from left to right its left hand threads, if threads run "downhill" from right to left its right hand threads. The bolt or nut on fan clutches are tough to loosen any way. You can't hurt it easily. You might try smacking the end of the wrench with a mallet. Hope this is clear as mud!!
Those fan nuts are just tough to get off, however it may have "left-hand" threads. If you can see any threads, look straight down at them...if threads are going "downhill" from right to left, then they are common right-hand threads, Lefty lucy-Righty tighty. However if the threads are going "downhill" from left to right, then they are left-hand threads, and you will need to turn the nut "clockwise" to loosen it. Hope this helps....let me know either way!!
The harmonic balancer should loosen in the CCW direction. Turn the bolt to counter clock wise direction. To tighten the bolt turn in clock wise direction.--------------This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.
Fuel PumpRemoval & InstallationTo Remove: WARNING The fuel system is under constant pressure, even when the engine is off. This pressure must be released before servicing the fuel pump module.
Drain fuel tank and remove the tank.
Thoroughly wash and clean area around pump module to prevent contaminants from entering tank.
The plastic fuel pump module locknut is threaded onto fuel tank. Install special tool #6856 to fuel pump module locknut and remove locknut. The fuel pump module will spring up when locknut is removed.
Remove the module from fuel tank.
To Install: CAUTION Whenever the fuel pump module is serviced, the module gasket must be replaced.
Thoroughly clean locknut threads and mating fuel tank threads. Use a solution of soap and water. Do not use carburetor cleaner to clean threads.
Using new gasket, position fuel pump module into opening in fuel tank.
Apply clean water to locknut threads.
Position locknut over top of fuel pump module.
Rotate module until arrow is pointed toward front of vehicle (12 o'clock position). This step must be done to prevent float/float rod assembly from contacting sides of fuel tank.
Install special tool #6856 to the locknut.
Tighten the locknut to 55 ft-lb (74 Nm).
Rotate fuel filter/fuel pressure regulator until its fitting is pointed to 10 o'clock position.
normal right hand thread. You wont find anything on that particular engine that is left hand thread. Some of them are so tight that you wonder if it is reverse, but rest assure this one is not. May take an impact gun to break it loose.
