Your write up is very hard to understand, but your transmission is ready for an overhaul.

2002 Chevy trailblazer LS, 205000 miles. Feels like slipping gears in drive and 3 , but will stay in gear in 2. Why?

Hey Frank... when was the last time you had the transmission fluid and filter changed?? this is classic GM transmission issues.. If the transmission fluid and filter are not changed every 50K-75K.... and they need a total fluid replacement about 100K - 125K.. they will start to act exactly like what you are describing...I had TWO 1996-2001 GM trucks do this..(I inherited both of them... they were NOT maintained)
the cost to "fix" each was $1200.00+.. after that.. they ran great...
Find a QUALIFIED Professional to do this...I went to the local drag strip.. asked around to see who was the best automatic transmission man.. (drag racers know this sort of thing!!) GLAD I DID!!!

Got a 07 trailblazer. Will not go into reverse and has a lil winding when you put it in drive.

check the fluid level in transmission add if low also look and smell fluid color should be a burgundy reddish and smell like oil not burnt if fluid is bad do a flush and change fluid and filter also put in an additive like lukas or royal purple as added protection and hope you got to problem before burning up transmission

When should I change transmission fluid

Transmission fluid is red. Pull the dip stick, it is light brown, change it. If it dark brown to black, Just keep it full. If it is acting up, probably to late for a fluid change.

Trailblazer transmission

check fluid if low add -check color and smell if smells burnt might get lucky with a fluid and filter change --same if it looks burnt [brownish ] also if mileage is high may need a filter change -----if it popped out of gear and u had to shift back into gear than problem could be linkage related ----

KIA sorento transmission fluid is burnt if I change the fluid will it mess up the transmission ?

It shouldn't, but be VERY CAREFUL when you drive afterwards. Transmission fluid sometimes creates a varnish like coating over the entire transmission. As the new fluid has a high level of cleaning properties this sludge can stop your new filter up. Only drive it for a short distance and see if it acts like it's not getting oil. Make sure it shifts properly and pulls normally. Any sign of abnormal operation is a sign it is stopping up. If this occurs stop the car immediately and change the filter again. I have seen the filter have to be changed three times. If were mine, with the burnt fluid look I would buy two filters and run it about five or ten times and let it set, then just put a new filter on it for the heck of it. I know changing the filter is a lot of trouble but so is changing a transmissionFrom experience,Gillight

No gears work acts like its in neutral

Your transmission is worn out Bands are burnt and probably needs a rebuild or replacement. Not much doubt about it.Sorry bud its dead. Was it a transmission flush you had? With a filter change? What made you decide it was time to have ****** fluid changed? Starting to slip a little, hesitating when starting out, was probably going out before you took it in.

Shifting problems 2002 dodge neon

I would start with checking the fluid level in the transmission.

With the vehicle on a level surface start it and let it run in park. Pull the transmission dipstick wipe it clean, reinsert and pull it out. If the fluid is not in the cross hatch area add 1/2 quart of ATF+4 and recheck the fluid level (it will take a couple of minutes for the fluid to settle out of the dipstick tube). Continue adding 1/2 quart at a time until the level is in the cross hatch area.

With your foot on the brake run the transmission through all the gears. place the transmission in park and recheck the level, adding as necessary.

Then drive it and see what happens.

Power steering

Sounds like your pressure needs to be checked for your power steering pump or maybe if that is ok the spool valve seals inside your rack are worn and letting fluid past under pressure.
