The blower motor and fan are serviced as an assembly only.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the passenger side sound insulator.
  3. Detach the electrical connections from the blower motor.
  4. Remove the blower motor retaining screws, then remove blower motor and fan assembly. To install:
  5. Install blower motor and fan assembly, then secure using the retaining screws.
  6. If equipped, connect the blower motor cooling tube.
  7. Attach the electrical connections to the blower motor.
  8. Install the right side sound insulator.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.

SOURCE: need location of crank angle sensor on 1997 pontiac sunfire 2.2 liter

Hello oldiro: My name is Roger and I can help. From under the vehicle look up between the transmission and the side of the block. Mid motor above the pan rail there is a bolted in sensor. This should be the crank sensor.It will have two wires plugged in to it. Please rate this answer as this lets us know you received the information you asked for. The blower fan on my 2002 pontiac sunfire dose not work right is there ducting off the housing to the vents


No - check the blower motor resistor located behind the blower motor on the passanger side underneath dash. Replace resistor if it is bad.

1997 Sunfire - Radiator fan not working.


It is most likely the temp sensor. you can test sensor and all wires with an ohmmeter. On the ohm setting, place one probe on one end of wiring or sensor, and the other on the other end and there should be a reading.

located right beside blower motor has about five wires going to it you will need 5.5mm socket to remove usually melted.
