This can be a C-V joint or hub bearing. If your style of front strut has a tower bearing, that's another possibility.

How do I remove and replace the pilot bearing on my 95 GMC Sierra truck.

You first have to remove the transmission, then remove the pressure plate and clutch disc from the flywheel. the pilot bearing in in the center of the flywheel it can be removed by packing the hole with grease then take a piece of round stock that is slightly smaller than the hole and giving it a quick sharp blow with a hammer this should force the pilot bearing out then wipe out the grease and install the new pilot bearing

5speed manual when i push clutch in and shift gears it is going in gear ok but every gear sounds like winding got to let off gas to go

Your clutch may not be disengaging fully, perhaps a tight pilot bearing, or a clutch disc that doesn't move freely on the main shaft. Check your lube level in the transmission. refill as needed.

My 95 escort gets stuck in fifth gear. Sometimes will come out sometimes wont. Have to stop the car, turn engine off and then pull out of fifth.

If it's a stander transmission, could be pressure plate getting weak, only repair is to replace it with a clutch kit, kit will have disk, pressure plate and bearing.
