If the pump runs then the nozzles are blocked. Use a pin or needle to clear the blockage from the nozzle.(Stick it in the little hole pointed at the windscreen.) Be careful not to break the pin off in the nozzle.
See if you are able to pull the pipes off from the underside of the nozzles. Clear the nozzle using the pin. Then point the pipe into the underside of the nozzle and activate the washer in order to rinse the nozzle.

When first driving forward there is a sound of rushing water heard from passenger front firewall area. is there an area that water can be trapped.

Yes there is. When your a/c runs it creates condensation which collects under the evaporator in a small collector, and then drains onto the ground. This is the puddle of water you will see under a parked car if the a/c has been running. If the drains are blocked the water will not drain away and you will hear water sloshing about. If it gets too full, the water will overflow and you will get water onto the front mats and you might get wet feet. You will need to find the drains under the car and clear what ever is blocking them. It is usually road grime and dirt. It might also be the drains at the front of the windscreen are blocked, although this usually wont end up in the car.

Windscreen washer not working

Most likely the pump (motor) is gone and needs replacement. However, it is worth checking that fuse allocated to windscreen washer is intact. Furthermore, you may also need to check the wiring for flow of current at lever end (handle on the steering wheel) and wires connecting to pump on the water reservoir.

Rear washer and front washer pump not working nissan terrano

On the Terrano's the washer pump that controls both the rear window and the headlight washers are fed from the same water reservoir found closest to the front of the vehicle. The one closest to the windscreen is for washing that windscreen but the larger one to the front washes both of the area's mentioned in your posting. On that unit there are two seperate pumps, one for the rear and one for the headlights. These have a tendancy to stop working through a variety of reasons. To check out the wiring a "Multimeter" is needed. Put the multimeter onto 12V if there is a setting for that on yours, if not put it onto 24V as most have that setting. Disconnect the wiring harness closest to the water reservoir and try each pin within the connection leading TO the reservoir. Attach one lead of your multimeter to an "Earth/Ground" point on your chassis and use the red lead to test each pin for voltage. If no voltage is found then try all of your fuses found near the drivers right knee area, but if voltage is found then try removing the pumps from the reservoir and purchase new ones that match. Usually a "Generic" model for the pump will be found to fit. I know I was able to find one when this same thing happened to me.

Hope this helps.

2003 kia rio- water pumps

I would follow the mechanics recommedations. I think he's taliking about the cam and crankshaft seals. Yes the water pump should be replaced as well. The pump that sprays windshield washer fluid onto the windshield is called the windshield washer pump. The water pump is on the engine and pumps water (coolant/antifreeze) through the engine to the radiator and heater core.

I have a 2001 Toyota RAV4. When I try to wash the windshield, the water only dribbles out of the nozzles on the hood. There seems to be no pressure. Is there any way to fix it myself? Hilary

The windscreen washer pump could be weak or there could some kind of obstruction to the system, try to ***** the nozzles with a needle while someone operates the windscreen washer switch.

Windscreen wash full, motor runs but little coming out of jets.

This may be because the motor employed for squirting the water is not functioning. Also check if the nozzle spraying the solution is not stuck.Insert a small pin into the nozzle and clean off any dirt stuck in it.Also the position of the nozzle can be adjusted by rotating the pin after insertin the pin into the nozzle. Also Check the pipe inside the reservoir if any dirt is stuck inside.also at times the the pipe connecting to the nozzle just under the bonnet may be loose or unconnected. So check all these.
