Isuzu 4fe flywheel and clutch pressure plate torque settings please

If this was in a basic workshop the flywheel would be as tight as you can reasonably pull with a 1/2 inch breaker bar, clutch pressure plate bolts with a 1/2 inch ratchet. Loctite the bolts. Tighten evenly across the bolts in sequence. If you really want to know hopefully someone will have a manual and sign in.

Clutch&tranny help

you need first wipe clean fly wheel and pressure plate machined surface clean then you need to install position clutch disc and pressure plate with clutch held in place with alignment tool. tighten pressure plate to flywheel bolts only finger tight.working around pressure plate.center the clutch disc by ensuring the alignment tool is through the splined hub and into the recess in the crankshaft.wiggle tool up down or side to side as needed to bottom tool.tighten the pressure plate to flywheel bolts a little at a time working in a crisscross pattern to prevent distortion of the cover.after all bolts snug tight tighten then torque bolts 30 ft lbs for V8 if engine V6 torque bolts 15 ft lbs.be sure to use high temperature grease on release bearing inner groove place grease on transaxle input shaft bearing retainer.

Wondering if you compared the thickness of the new pressure plate flange to the old one.If the metal is thinner than the original,maybe the bolts are just bottoming out.If this is the case,you can probably get shorter bolts,trim the originals,or use a fat washer.Just make sure you allow more than just enough,as you don't want them to bottom out at the point where the flange looks seated.

did you use a pilot spline to align the clutch and did you change the pilot bearing in the end of the crank. The clutch plate maybe interfering with the pressure plate if it is not lined up.

Replace clutch in a 2003 hyundai Elantra

  • The manual transmission in your Hyundai Elantra uses a clutch to engage and disengage the power from the engine to the transmission.
  • The clutch disc is sandwiched between the engine flywheel and the transmission pressure plate.
  • When you switch gears and let off the clutch pedal, there is a short period during which the clutch is slipping to transmit the power in a controlled way. This causes wear on the clutch; over time it will require replacement.
The procedure to replace the clutch is as follows:--- 1) Jack up the Hyundai Elantra and place on jack stands. 2)Drain the transmission gear oil into a catch pan. To drain the gear oil, loosen the drain bolt with a ratchet. 3)Disconnect both drive axles (half shafts) from the transmission. Use a ratchet to remove the two bolts that hold the steering knuckle to the strut. Once those are out, you can easily pull the axles out of the transmission. The steering knuckle is the component that the wheel and strut attach to. 4)You can locate the two bolts to remove by following the strut down from where it's bolted into the engine bay Removing these two bolts allows you to pull the steering knuckle outward so you can pull the drive axle out of the transmission. 5)Remove the exhaust downpipe from the rest of the exhaust. It will be held on with two bolts at both ends and can be removed with a ratchet. Removing this piece is necessary to gain access to the transmission. 6)Disconnect the shifter cables connected to the transmission. Use a ratchet to remove each shifter cable and its housing.Remove the bolts holding the transmission to the engine block (there will be about seven or eight bolts). Place a transmission lift underneath the transmission to hold it and lower it down. If you don't have a transmission lift, you can use a transmission attachment for your jack.Shift the transmission back and forth until it drops onto the jack. Pull the transmission straight back, ensuring that no pressure is put on the input shaft, then lower the transmission to the ground. 7)Remove the pressure plate and clutch disc from the flywheel with a ratchet tool. Then remove the flywheel with a ratchet tool and replace it with a new flywheel. Alternatively, have your flywheel professionally machined at a machine shop then replace it in your car. Torque the flywheel down to the manufacturer's specifications. 8)Place the clutch disc on the clutch disc alignment tool and insert the tool into the flywheel input shaft hole. Connect the new pressure plate to the flywheel and torque the bolts. Once the pressure plate is torqued down, remove the clutch alignment tool. 9)Grease the new throw-out bearing and place it on the input shaft of the transmission. Once the transmission is installed, it will push against the pressure plate. 10) Reconnect all the parts which you removed while replacing the clutch. Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

How do i install a clutch on a 1990 laser?

You need to get a manual. Try the Haynes manual for your car. Try autozone; generally available for around $20. This is not the type of thing that can be covered here in enought detail to do you any good.
Basics are;
disconect the negative battery cable, set parking brake
locate the trans mounting bolts
get something to support the engine and something to support the trans
seperate the trans from the motor by removing the bolts. On transverse mounted engines you will probably have to pull the trans to get enough room to remove the clutch and you'll probably have to remove the 1/2 shaft axles (front wheel cars) or drive shaft (rear wheel drive cars)
If replacing the entire clutc assembly (pressure plate, flywheel, and clutch), loosen the pressure plate mounting bolts gradually working your way around the pressure plate. If only replacing the clutch then seperate the sperate the pressure plate from the flywheel and remobe. Align clutch with a clutch allignment tools and replace pressure plate. Torque bolts to spec. reconnect the trans to the motor. Few other things to think about. You should replace the throwout bearng when doing a clutch. Lube the clutch fork as directed without getting lub on the clutch face. Hopefully I have convinced yu to get a manual or you will be hating life if you take this on without it.
