97 dodge caravan 3.3Ltrs transmission stay in first gear ( Dont change

Ok if it stays in first it is probaly a speedometer issue or the vehicle has lost its pinion factor setting because of battery being disconnected or some other issue. If it stays in second (this more common) the the trans is in limp mode, and there are numerous reasons for this. You will need to have a diagnostic run to determine the cause and this will be money well spent. You dont want to blindly start swapping parts .There will be some sort of code stored in the pcm and or the tcm that will point you in the right direction. Also have them look at CVI values and check pinion factor setting(tire size stored in tcm).

Transmission is staying in 2nd gear runs great but will not shift. have a scanner and it read tcm module code p0605. where is this module located on a 2001 dodge intrepid? and if i install it will it need...

I would replace the etax relay in the fuse box first( swap it with the blower motor relay) and see if that cures the problem. The new computer will come with software already in it , but you will need a scan tool to do a battery disconect reset, a quick learn , and pinion factor set. Should probaly go to a professional shop.

What all do i need to be looking out for when installing a tcm that is programmed for my vehicle?

Just bolt it in and plug it in. Do you know anyone with a scanner that can set your pinion factor and do the relearn procedure on it after the install. The pinion factor will need to be set for your speedo to be exact and the shift points to be right. You can still drive it after the install if you don't set these.

2001 dodge grand caravan no power steering assist I have replaced power steering pump and flushed system

The rack and pinion unit is probally bad. There are internal seals inside that hold the pressure, created by the pump, to turn the wheels, these seals maybe worn, or other internal parts are bad inside.
