How do i confirm a blend door problem?

Look at the motorcraft site & get to the parts area

Use your VIN # then your got exactly your vehicle

Enlarge the view of all the under dash HVAC Motors
or servos & write down the OE numbers for later

If you can have the module scanned professionally
& if that data is there, it may tell you the failed ones

Either way you try all the manual settings for air flow

The ones that fail to switch, along with your motorcraft
view of them ,will guide you to the one you have to replace

If that is the problem, only then do you go under the dash,
remove the glove box, etc

Also look at & feel all the coolant tubes that may be on the
passenger side sub frame rail or going from the radiator,
coolant fill, all heater related tubes & hoses, they may not all be hot

They all have to be hot or you have a failed heater control
valve somewhere

I have one here for my Lincoln LS to install if it stops raining
& snowing

First establish if you have hot coolant going into & out of the heater core, then work on the control valve if that applies then
the under dash blend doors

If you had the factory manuals I purchase you would be all set

Try the internet & you tube video also & ask for your vehicles
heater issues

The windows roll up slow and stop. after a wait the will go a little further

All you can do is remove the inner door panel to get
a good look at the problem

Then you will know if the window sticks somewhere
or the regulator is worn & may even have to test &
then replace a worn motor

Time consuming & interesting job

Pay someone to do that. Good luck there

Forgot,got ahead of myself

Could be just a worn out switch & only have to
pop them up & out of the door to test

I have a 1997 dodge Dakota 5.2l v8 with 165,000 miles. There is a couple of problems that I'm not sure what it is. 1st problem is when the car is rolling I hear a type of grinding noise by the front...

First if breaks aren't dragging and you had pads replaced, and rotors turned or replaced. Jack up the front and check the wheel bearings by pushing in on the top of the wheel and pushing in on the bottom in a jerking motion. You should feel any movement or hear any clunking. Also check the inside of the rim for signs of rubbing just encase.

Second check vacuum lines from trans to engine. Along with the fluid levels.

Third check your back tires and the rims for build up, if no signs of bad tires, or build up in the rims. You'll need to check your U-Joints.

When car picks up speed the heat blows. when u stop or slow down. cold air blows

Tell me when you speed up is the heater set on hot and high speed?????
WHEN you slow down is the fan still going at the same speed or dose it go very slow when on idle.
If the Fan stays on high but runs cold when going about 80 in top but when you speed up it gets hot and then back off slightly then its sounds like Water pump isent pumping the water around the engine correctly ,but then it should make the engine run overheated.or it could be a slipping fanbelt, but then that should make the Alternator to make a noise,so {throttle to 2000 rpm from idle standind still} and see if there's a noise coming from the water pump area.
The belt should have just a little free movement more on the longest part of the belt(a very little about 1/8' movement
So check it out and let ne know how you get on .

Wynding noise under dash when picking up speed.

Does the winding noise speed nup and slow down with the movement of the car? Does the sound seem like an electrical whine or a mechanical whine? It could be your speedomiter cable.

My abs light stays on although breaking seems ok but sometimes when i break at slow speed i get a slight grinding noise and shake from the front wheel drivers side

It sounds like you have a bad wheel bearing and you should have that checked.I would also check the passenger side as well.If you jack the vehicle so the front tire comes off the ground and try to move it from the top and bottom of the tire with a push pull type motion you will notice some movement if the bearing is getting pretty bad but sometimes when it is bad you might not feel it at all.If this is the case you will have to bring it somewere to get it diagnosed.

Breaking at slow speed there is a bad bearing o scrunching noise.

This is a hub issues. the bearings are dry and i would get this looked at before they get to dry. i would also check the entire axle assembly as well. just too be safe. i suspect the bearings will need to be replaced. (repacked)
