Question about 1984 Honda Accord

Hello I'm looking at a 1984 honda accord as a 1st time car. The person how is selling it is selling it for $1000 no tax, is this car worth that? And how is the safty and gas on this older car? thanks

That's a tall price for an old car. 26 years old I'd check with your insurance company as they might not take a car that old. The tires and fluilds need to look good and the reason their selling it need not sound fishy.

Check your EGR valve, see if it's stuck open. Next look for vacuum leaks, then check cam timing. Check engine light on? If so, get the codes.

Transmission control mod....under passenger floormat/carpet...mine was a pxo28100 731....found a 732 from a 93...it was comp. #10 socket ...4 nuts...remove box just enough to get to tmc...3 nuts and unplug...yes, disconnect battery first...honda wanted 650.00 for a new one with different numbers...replacement, can no longer get the 731...ebay has them for 45.00 on up to 275.00....i paid 21.00....hey,,,for a person on a low budget...used worked for me.Good luck! oh yea----be wary of the pros...$$$$$$....!

are you looking for a vacume hose routing diagram? your best bet is to head down to the parts store and pick up a shop manual for your vehicle. it'll have every specification you'll need, and it's worth every penny! i hope this helps and good luck!

Sounds like an ignition module problem. Not to hard to change, they are inside the distributor2d5b6c4.jpg.

Look for a replacement at a local parts store to see if they have something cheap that will work. If not, try a pick and pull wrecking yard. If you don't mind paying more than it's worth, go to the dealer and order it.
