Usually the service engine light is to let you know there might be a emissions problem.

Will low oil cause rough idle and check engine light to flash?

If oil was low enough it could cause enough damage to the engine to cause these issues but the orange oil pressure light would have come on before that!

Why does the oil maintenence light come on in my car when there is enough oil in the sump of a toyota corolla 2011

It may be the oil pressure transmitter that is faulty. Here are some generic images of various oil pressure transmitters:

It will look pretty similar to one of the above images.
If not located next to the oil filter on your car, have a look at the block. The transmitter simply screws into the engine.

Your fault is highly unlikely to be a blocked oil filter. The transmitter is very easy to change - try changing it.

Check engine light comes on after car is run for a few minutes and also tail lights quit working

Engine light may be trying to tell you something? When was it last serviced? Is there enough oil/water etc.
Tail lights will be bulb or a bad ground connection.

Hello people, I recently did a full service on my golf3 (changed engine oil and what-not) but my oil light keeps coming on!Solution any1

Yes, if the engine oil and filter has been changed, but the oil light keeps coming on, then there may be pressure issues within the engine for the oil pressure, that is.

Connect a gauge where the oil pressure sending unit usually goes after unscrewing the sending unit, and measure the pressure to see if it within specifications. If below, then the engine's oil pump must be rebuilt or replaced in order to have enough pressure to lubricate the inside of the engine.

Please do this before the engine gets symptoms of oil starvation.

Good luck on this repair.

Car oil light is coming on when i brake. no unusely sound in the car or motor sound also the service engine soon light has been coming on

Well i hope its not the oil pump because the oil pump works with the speed of the engine when it turns and as you know when the engine turns fast the oil pump turns fast too and the more you accelerate the faster the oil pump turns, that means there is more pressure of the oil to go up top the engine and when the engine idles, The pump turns slowly, and doesnt pump enough oil up top the engine and the oil pressure switch dosent detect any oil passing by then it send a message that the pressure is low. So check your oil pressure during idle. Good luck Bro

My 2001 jeep started to run terrible, making horrible noises and I took it to the service station. They said there was no oil in it and the engine is shot. I had the oil changed a month ago and no warning...

That happens some times the switch has malfuntioned and or the fuse has blown on all of your warning lights. Have you seen oil on the ground or has it been smoking.

You may need to reset the "service interval" light. A manual or online resource should be able to tell you how.

As long as the filter was also changed and the oil is the correct viscosity rating, you have nothing to worry about.

I have loud knocking sound when the throttle is pressed down halfway or more, and the knocking gets louder the further I press the pedal. However, the engine idles fine and accelerates smoothly at low...

Make sure you have enough oil in the engine (though it's likely too late) If you have knocking and oil light on, sorry to say, you likely have lost a rod or crank main bearing (engine needs to come out of car and completely apart (very expensive) Options are a re-manufactured or scrapyard replacement.
