Car running hot, just replaced the thermostat, but its still running hot, it does not go to the red, but it is running very hot, not sure if the fan is turning on when it should....

have you checked the engine cooling fan yet? if not that, then you may need to buy a can of radiator flush @ flush the radiator. sometimes gunk builds up in the radiator and reduces the coolant flow resulting in overheating. also if that fans not running try checking your fuses @ also the ralays under the hood in the black box. hope this helps!!

1999 Alero: I replace the head gaskets thermostat water pump n...

OK you have done the engine side of things. If you have an electric radiator cooling fan make sure it comes on when radiator is hot, if not the fan motor is caned or the thermostat switch is faulty. Sometimes the fan motor is supplied by a fused/relayed circuit in which case these items will also need to be checked. Check that not only does the top hose from the engine to radiator get hot but that the bottom one does too. If not this would indicate a blockage perhaps in the radiator core due to sludge. If full of sludge give both ends a flush out with a high pressure hose. Like wise do the same with the bottom hose back to the pump. If the water is circulating and the radiator fan is working then the normal cooling system is working as it should. f the engine is running hot one last thing is to find the EGR valve and check that it is opening as it should. If not the combustion temperatures go very high. One indicator of a hot engine is blue/glazed spark plugs so take one out and check it for signs of hot running. If hot then look to clean the EGR valve and associated exhaust gas feeder pipe with frayed cable, cloth and and carb cleaner spray.

HI. MY CADILLAC SEVILLE V8 4.9L '93, STILL OVERHEATING. I REPLACED: NEW RADIATOR, FAN MOTOR, THERMOSTAT, WATER PUMP. SOMETIMES DRIVES GOOD AVERAGE 180 DEGREES, BUT AT NOON INCREASE 240, 255. I DONT KNOW...

Ensure motor tune or other motor mechanical condition is not the cause of overheating, I assume the motor is actually running hot, - ensure the high gauge reading is not just a gauge sender problem. Check cooling fans are operating ok (as necessary when car warms up):- if not check
1) fuse,
2) relay operation,
3) heat sensor switch.

Check the coolant pressure cap is serviceable & of correct rating,
Ensure cooling system is correctly filled, bleed off any airlocks as necessary when re-filling,
Ensure radiator hose on suction side of waterpump is not collapsing at engine revs above idle (due softening),
If the motor has been severely overheated, the head gasket could be blown - look for combustion gas bubbles in the coolant resevoir.

If none of the above fix your problem, replace the thermostat again - it is not unheard of for a new thermostat to be faulty .

Heater not working, blower does work but not hot

Sounds like Heater matrix blocked, check pipes going from engine bay into bulk head both should be getting hot if one is not then may be worth removing pipes and trying to flush it through as would be expensive to renew it as its a large job.

Your fan motor might be fried... and check your coolant, they have a tool which measures its ability to do its job. you might need a radiator flush but start small... THe tool to make sure you anti-Freeze is good is very cheap. By one and test it (it tells you how to test it) then check your fuzes for your Radiator fans in your owners manual. if that is good take your fans off and have them tested. you need to get your fans working again even if you need to by new. And see if your car needs a coolant flush, ( a true flush not a drain and fill
