Question about 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee
When I put a tape deck adapter for my ipod in the tape deck it will switch from one side to the other before spitting the tape deck back out. I know it isnt the tape deck because i have tried a couple different ones.
I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee 1998.
Ive read a few different things like removing spring roller bits in the tape deck or overriding the tape automatic sensor.
What should I do, and how can I fix this?

Jack up your Cherokee and look underneath for a wiring harness that leads to a sensor that is between the engine and trans. This is your crank sensor. Pull it out and check the condition. Mainly look at the wiring harness to the sensor. These Jeeps have a habit of breaking and your Jeep with just turn off going down the road. These wiring harnesses are available at the dealer and are fairly inexpensive.

If they have not changed the design, the retaining spring is part of the "extinguishing bar" (where you put cigarettes out) the clip tends to lock in the down position and needs to simply be pushed back up to engage the retainer in the dashboard opening
