My timing belt broke on my 2002 dodge neon. did it bend the valves

This is not an interference engine and braking timing belt will not bend valves.

How locate & replace timing belt

Your timing belt is behind the pulleys and belt and you will have to remove the plastic cover to get to the timing belt Caution though because if you set the timing belt wrong or if it broke the chances are you will have to remove the head because the neon engine is a interference engine this meaning the pistons with hit the valves. If you are not skilled enough to tackle this job I would take it to a mechanic to do the repair,,

Can you change just the bearing on a belt tensioner on a 2002 neon

hi from uk these tensioners new come as a complete unit and would not advise trying to replace bearing and use the old mount/adjuster here in uk these timing belts come as a kit ie new belt and tensioner however if you are considering belt and tensioner renewal would advise you also check any other pully bearings for smooth running/signes of wear at the end of the day? i'm sure you are aware of horror stories of engine damage should either t/belt or tensioner failure? do the safest thing and fit new kit and have peace of mind hope this helps ?

97 dodge neon timing belt broke while going down the road need to know how to get car back in time bought a new timing belt new tensioner and still cannont get car to start junk yard says my car does not...

I do not have good news for you.
According to the Gates Timing Belt guide 2002 Edition, both engines offered in the Dodge Neon are interference engines.
This means that your engine has likely sustained sgnificant valve, cylinder head or even piston damage. Have you tested the compression?
It is probably least expensive to buy a used engine, change its timing belt and replace your engine with that one.

Whirring noises 2002 dodge neon

My old Dodge Spirit did that ALL the time, and it was usually a belt somewhere. Have your mechanic check the belts...I bet one of them just likes to whistle while he works. <:o)
