Question about 2003 Lexus RX 300

1 Answer

I have a 2003 lexus Rx 300. The head lights are moving in the jerky movement and from time to time on the control pannel orange ligth comes on for the headlights. I know that there is a sensor for the headligts to adjust the beam for changing road condition but not while stopped or parked.

Hi! Please try this. Open the hood and remove the battery connectors. Leave it for atleast an hour to reset the system. Once the system is resetted we may get rid of the unusual movement of the headlight. Hope this helps and have a good one!

Yes sensors may be going bad or maybe not. Sometimes the car's computer trips thats why we have some performance irregularities.

Why have you not had the vehicle at a shop, so they

Only way is with a code puller/scanner.

First have the code pulled to see what is wrong. Fix the problem and the light will go out.

if you have fixed the problem then you can also reset the light by removing the negative terminal of the battery for about 10seconds. But if you did not fix the problem then the light will come back on.

How do I remove Head Light assembly on my 1999 Lexus RX 300

After removing the top and side bolts (which are obvious) Go to the fender liner. Remove all but the top screw . You will find (by flashlight or shop light) two bolts coming out of the headlight rear. With a socket wrench and 10mm socket, remove the two nuts on the headlight and pull out the headlight from the front after insuring the bulbs are removed and identified for reinstall. Take your time. It is not difficult.
