First thing to do is check and see if the brake lights work, the brake lights power the release solenoid so you can move the gear selector from part to the desired gear.

Will not shift out of park

the shifter lever is stuck?
or the lever move to drive but car dont move.
its on ramps so the parking pawl in tranny is not jammed.
does the side of transmission, selector move correctly with
console lever action.
is this a park lock out feature failure.
or is the tranny ACTUALLY stuck in park with its lever in DRIVE
lever on side of trans , no car?

I have a 2006 charger hemi, the gear stuck in park. How do I get it ou of park

its might have something to do with your brake lights. if the computer doesnt sense the brake lights come when u hit the pedal it wont release the car from park. to temporarily get your car out of park, remove the coin tray that on the side of the shifter, just give it a good tug, ull see a pink lever the console, just push the pink level while shifting the handle and you'll be good to good. fyi u only need to push that pink lever when shifting from park.

Gear shifter is stuck on park on my 2007 caliber

PERMANENT FIX that doesn't cost a dime or require any tools. It happened to me by accident. Break the detante by moving the gear selector while holding the manual override lever (plastic lever inside the access hole). Once it is gone no matter what the brake switch calls for (lock gear selector or not) the gear selector will always be movable because the mechanical locking mechanism is no longer there. TADA!!! So what if you no longer have to depress the brake pedal in order to change gears. Call it a retro fix.....!

Daughter's Dodge sedan would not switch gears this a.m., i.e., from Park to Drive. Suggestions?

There is a small pink plastic lever that is broken internally in the shifter housing. It's possible to remove the bezel and actuate the lever. You have to have the brake depressed and key in the run position while off. Press the lever toward the front of the car. It's on the passengers side near the section of the selector while in park. While I waited for my parts to come in to repair it I lefty car in neutral with the parking brake engaged. A quick google search on dodge charger aftermarket shifter repair may bring up the site I ordered my aluminum shift repair kit from. Under $80 whereas the dealer wanted well over $200 to repair it with the cheap plastic that failed in the first place.

2007 dodge charger stuck in park . What is the cost for repair ?

General public says it cost about $400 to have it done, and it's not a permanent fix. There's a plastic piece that is prone to breaking.
you can do it yourself for under $50.

2007 dodge charger stuck in park

Check the brake switch sensor near the brake pedal (or on the lever) to make sure that it is engaging.

This is a c ommon problem to get stuck in park when this brake switch goes bad.

Charger Stuck in Park

The override switch is located in the center console where the gear selector is... unfortunately, on most cars, it requires the center console to be removed to get to it

sounds like your brake/shift interlock solenoid is not releasing.
Your owner manual will tell you how to bypass in emergency.
Check your fuse first. fuse panel on instrument panel.

Please rate as fixed if this helps.

Fuse 23 - 1 5 amp
Fuse 34 - 7 1/2 amp

check enigne light not related.

The selector lever lock can be moved mechanically out of position ”P" when for example the battery is disconnected or completely discharged.
Using a ball point pen or similar item as an unlocking lever, push forward and hold in position.

Move the selector lever out of position "P".

NOTE: If the selector lever is moved back to ”P" it is re-locked.
