What is Ford's recomendation (mileage) for replacing the serpentine belt on a 1998 Ford Explorer?

Theres no mileage to change just to check it, the way to check the belt is to look at the inside of the belt and you will see grooves in which the belt rides, if you see cracks in the belt then its time tom replace. the belt should be looked at every oil change it thats no time to check. hope this is helpful.

A light came on, a little yellow triangle light, and a note that said oil maintenance required.

Check the engine oil level. if low add 1/2 quart and re check untill full. GO get oil change. DO NOT RUN if oil is not showing on the dip stick. The oil weight is in the owners manual.

Car Oils (engine oil, brake oil etc.) & How to change them

I would recomend a synthetic oil most cars are 5 quarts 10w40 undo the drain bolt on the bottom of the oil pan then after the oil is drained replace the bolt. then scre off the fuel filter and replace it with a new one (a local auto store can supply the correct one) then fill the car with the 5 qts and your good to go

Poor gas mileage on my jeep liberty

change your spark plugs if they haven't been changed in awhile. check your tires for the propper psi there should be a sticker on the inside of your drivers door that will tell you recomended air pressures go by this not the recomendations on the tires. also where are you getting you gas does it contain ethanol sometimes this can burn faster.

Oil Change

when buting a used car it is always best to change the oil as soon as posable as u do not know what its condition is as for what type it is really up to you as long as the oil is the same weight as recomended witch is listed on the cap example 5W-20 which i beleve is the one for the audi but as for the type it is up to u as the owner I recomend synthitic if u do alot of hi-way driving

Engin oil

The proper oil for any car, depend of the mileage, temperature conditions , altitude condition.
temperature below 40 Farenheit. recomeded oil is 0w20.
Some manufactures recomended use 5w20 in all conditions. and miles.
More than 40 f. 5w30 to 20w50,
If you car is in 0 miles to 30,000 miles 5w30
30k to 50k 10w30
50k to 90k 10w40
90k and up 20w50

This is just a recomended reference or table.
always consult with your owners manual.
Or manufacters spec.
