Temp gage reds hot for a second and returns to

After driving 10 minutes temp gage goes all the way to h and then drops back down to normal.only does this in the first 10 minutes of driving.

I would check the wiring to the temp sensor. Make sure that it's connected properly. If so, and it's still giving you that problem, I would replace the sensor. (That's of course assuming you can't live with it's eccentricity/quirk.)

is the thermostat sticking from cold operation?
have you tried replacing it to see if it still happens?
if it does still happen, could be temperature sensor
the sensor might be cheaper and easier to replace 1st

replace the gages their malfunctioning ,check the wires for they are grounded.

TEMPEATURE GAGE READS HOT WHEN AT AN IDOL BUT MOTOR


If cooling fan works, it maybe a sticking thermostat not opening fully. Check that cooling system is full (check cold) first. Then if that seems ok, i would replace the thermostat.
