Most likely you will have to replace the wiper linkage from the center pivot to the left or drivers-side wiper pivot. The plastic piece in the linkage gets brittle over time and breaks down. To save a hassle in the future, replace both linkages. It should be under $20.00 for parts.

SOURCE: Wiper linkage broken
i had this problem for my 1997 HONDA ACCORD
MAKE SURE IT IS NOT THE MOTOR
to do this turn on the windshiled wipers. if you hear the motor, it is fine.
SECURE THE PART
you cannot buy the plastic part which is called the bushing. technically it is called the wiper linkage bushing. (well you can buy the bushing, but usually from a place like autozone and they dont sell it for our car. ) so you have to buy the part from honda, and you have to buy the whole arm, called the wiper linkage. (you have two of them, an A and a B. A is on top, B is on the bottom)
TAKE DOWN THE COWL
that is the plastic part over the motor and the wiper linkages
REMOVE OLD WIPER LINKAGE
APPLY NEW LINKAGE --BUT LUBE UP SURFACE VERY WELL,, b/c it will be too tight.
SET WIPER to ZERO to make sure it wipes the way it needs to.
hope this helps. BUT if it doesn't HONDA can put it on fro about 45 minutes if you take down everything, and all they have to do is put on the arm and put back on the wipers!

should be under the screwed down cover behind the fuses in the engine compartment.
If your wiper is having issues normally it is the mechanical side of the unit. Try going to www.benzworld.org or peachparts.com and look on how to lubricate it.

Good evening Kah2110,
I assume you have replaced the linkage by now and all is fine?
I have freed a sticking spindle (driver side) but now find I can't seem to get the wipers arms positioned properly - did you find that there is a sequence/procedure to follow?
