Remove the interior door trim and check the linkages between the door handle and the lock.. I believe that one of the linkages has broken off due to the plastic clips which hold them on, breaking.. Replacing the clip and refitting the linkage will solve your issue..

Back near side door lock latch won't fully open preventing me from opening door from inside or outside on 2005 Ford focus possible causes

The most common cause for this is the door opening lever on the lock assembly is sitting slightly between the open and closed position and will not allow the lock arm to operate properly. I am not positive, but I think the lever is cable operated by the inside handle. You may be able to remove the inside handle assembly and access this cable and slide it in and out to see if the door lock will open

My driver and passanger car doors will not open from the outside they only open on the inside I try opening them on the outside but the handles just wiggle up and down and dont do anything

There is a rod linkage that connects the outside door handle to the latch mechanism. You will have to take the door panel off and inspect the rod.

I have a 98 accord and i cant open the driver door from the inside or outside ...what is the cheapest solution to getting this door open???

In all probabilty, the metal rod that runs from the outside handle down to the locking mechanism has become dislodged. This same rod also operates the inside door handle. Either that, or one of the plastic connecting levers to the same rod has broken. For this repair you will have to dismount the inside panel of the door. Search in this site for the steps to disassembling the panel. I think i wrote about it once.

1998 honda accord driver side door won't open inside or outside but it can lock and unlock.

The lock / unlock operations are performed either electrically or manually directly on the solenoid installed on each door, and has nothing to do with the opening mechanism. In all probability, the metal rod that goes up from the door latching mechanism to the outside and inside handle, has become unattached / dislodged from the unit. This requires taking down the inside of the door panel, in order to reach the latch, and its operating rods. Look elsewhere on Fixya, for instructions on how to dismount the door panel. I think i provided instructions for this in the past.

2006 1.9 passat tdi estate drivers side door handle fault

Under waranty? Back to the dealer. Out of waranty? Either a dealer, or a private shop that has a good reputiation. Ask your friends amd co-workers and family.

Child locks only disable the INSIDE handle leaving the OUTSIDE handle operating. Sounds like the linkage for the outer handle has come apart.

Driver side doors do not open from outside, inside handles operate appropriately. outside handles were pulled with force after recent ice storm. I am guessing a linkage in the door has been broken or...

The repair will require removal of the door panel and adjustment/replacement of the rod that connects the outside handle to the lock mechanism, or replacement of the handle itself.

How do I fix a broken outer door handle on he drivers side?

Is there anything connecting the handle to the door latch assembly? Is the lock cylinder in the key hole and secured? It just sounds like the linkage may have slipped off the door handle
