Their isnt none ,you need a special kit to locate the timing ,where a bolt is removed in the bottom of the block just infront of the bell housing at the front of the engine and a special bolt put in that locates the crankshaft. Now their is no crankshaft keyway on this motor and the bottom pulley bolt has to be pulled up to 120lbs ,for this their is another piece that bolts to a starter motor bolt hole and locks the ring gear up .You should be able to buy ths kit in a auto factor its kit number ast 4390 .

I have a 2001 Renault laguna 2 1.8 16v and the timing belt has broken, it has got too many marks on the wheel so I don't know how to allign them could you please help me out?

You can google the part and it will show you what you are asking about. To my knowledge there should be a dot on the wheel for you to start from and on the belt or else it doesn't matter where you place the belt just be sure the cam gears are lined up.

Renault laguna 1.9 valve change

If the cam belt popped you may not need to pull the head.. See if all you valves come to full height when you turn the cam with a wrench. If they do, you lucked out and none are bent. Change the timing belt and rotate the crank and cam together once everything is in time, and if you can, do a compression test. That will expose any bent vales. If you have compression. recheck your timing belt settings and button it up. Good Luck, Ned
