Question about Honda CR-V

1 Answer

I own a Honda CRV Model 2001 automatic transmission. My problem is when the workshop replaced the timing belt due to cut off the engine sounds erratic and the engine is giving more vibration observed specially when the compressor cuts in. What is the major cause of this problem because the workshop had opened up the engine and made some internal parts replacement. Please advise

.these engines need a special tool to remove the bottom pulley and lock it in place ,sounds like they made a boo boo and clouted all the valves and possibly broke the cam bearing caps ,unless this happened when timing belt cut off?? so its difficult to advise unless i know exactly what happened

Sorry, your question does not contain enough information for anyone to help you with your problem. For anyone to provide the information for you, they will first need to know the YEAR, MAKE, MODEL, and ENGINE SIZE of the vehicle that you want the information for.

2001 Honda CRV cruise control doesn't after getting timing belt replaced

Very likely, the repair shop botched the repair, and failed to reconnect some kind of connection which is critical to the cruse control. Very typical in repair shops these days! I would take it back and complain!

Honda crv Mki 2001 engine management light has just light up after timing belt changed and full service

Hi,
Honda mki2001
The engine chipset computer must have sensed the timing belt too tight or not in line or or the timing not set after the new belt put. You will HAVE to go back to rectify this problem.
A word of advise.... dont loose time... go ASAP to avoide costly damage to the bearings...

Cold engine knock after timing belt and water pump replaced

Hi, this could be because the cam timing is a notch or 2 out. The fact that it quiets down when the engine heats up is because the timing is retarded as the engine reaches operating temperature. You will have to look at the cam timing and make sure that they have done it correctly. If that is fine it might be that they have dropped something, like a bolt or nut into the valve cover when it was removed.

My 2001 honda crv is about 50,000 miles. what maintenance service do you recommend?

50,000 miles then all its needed is the oil changed. One thing though, the automatic transmissions on honda's don't last as long as the engines. They seem to last about 120,000 miles on most newer hondas. The manual transmissions are bulletproof though. Other than a clutch every 150,000 miles or so a manual transmission accord will run much longer than the body will last if its driven normally.
