when u press the clutch is it softer than usual ? if yes then check the fluid is full under the bonnet !? if empty then u must bleed the system ! if clutch feels normal then the clutch assy needs checking for wear or damage !

1999 toyota rav4 wont go into first gear, i just repaced the clutch,clutch slave cylinder and clutch master clutch


Did you bleed the slave cylinder? Also, check pedal free play (about 1/2 inch) and pedal height (not sure on your Rav, you'll have to check with Toyota).
Only first gear, or difficulty going into all gears?

While driving tmy 2004 toyota solora 5 speed, the clutch pedal got stuck to the floor after I shifted into 2nd gear.. I could not get it to come back up. I pulled over to side of road and let car cut off....


This could be an issue with the clutch master cylinder which is found at the opposite end of the clutch in the engine bay. This is where your clutch fluid reservoir is located. There may be a drop of fluid or there is a leak or it may be wearing out. This may happen in the future and it is best to have it checked.

Engine fan does not run and the fan is not electric


If the cooling fan is not turning when the engine is running, the fan clutch assembly is defective. This is a common problem. The fan clutch is an electrically operated clutch controlled by the engine computer. You should also have the Check Engine light on.

Exchange the transmission fluid with a synthetic lube for easier engagement. Shift to second first before shifting to first helps as well.

Trans abrupt shift up & down between 1st & 2nd


Honda requires a highly friction modified fluid,or additive.Drain the fluid and replace with genuine Honda fluid.This should calm down the shifts a little.Fluid level is checked with the engine OFF.Also on your year Honda,there is a cable that runs from the accellerator linkage under the hood,down to the transmission.This cable is responsible for shift timing,and shift FEEL,and it is adjustable for these purposes.At the transmission are 2....12 mm nuts jammed against each other with a steel bracket in between.Loosen the nuts,and then the cable can be adjusted.For a softer shift feel,loosen the nuts,and take the end of the cable,and move it TOWARD the little arm (down) sticking out from the trans.This effectively makes the cable SHORTER resulting in softer shifts.For harder and later shifts,move the cable the opposite way,effectively making the cable LONGER.Beware though.adjusting the cable TOO much towards the softer side can cause the trans to start slipping and actually burn up clutch packs inside the trans,so some common sense is needed when adjusting the cable.Good luck,and remember to rate this solution.
