Question about 2000 Honda Odyssey

2 Answers

I have a 2001 Honda Odyssey. I only recently bought this. The rear air con vents only blow out cold air, no matter what the temperature it is set to. The dealer I bought from said this was standard, and that they were for cold air only. I can't see the logic in having rear vents that blow cold air conditioned air only. The rear air con does have independent fan control. Does your's do this? Am I being fobbed off by my car dealer? Thanks for your time. Cheers John

I've have never heard of a "only cold air system", but hey, nothing surprises me anymore. try replacing the control unit in the front. hopefully that will take care of the problem. If not you need to check your blend valve. (headache depending on location)

A/c blowing hot air from front vents, but rear A/c vents are cold in a 2001 Honda odyssey.

It is very likely you have a stuck air temperature control blend door and or the blend door actuator has failed, since the dash must be removed to replace these parts you always do both.

03 honda odyssey no wam airflow through overhead vents but cold blows strong

You mean turn on heat but get Only cold air ?
Is it front heater work and hot?
If so. The heater hose to the rear core is plug. Need to flush it from both direction and make sure is full of coolant (Water).
You should be good to go.

2001 Suzuki XL-7. Heater blows hot one side, cold the other.

No ductwork [to the lower vents] under the dash. They are part of the heater core / blower housing is integrated (all one piece).

After reviewing shop manual, we suspect that one of the three damper flaps is not positioning correctly; or debris has blocked one side (which makes more sense given the symptoms).

We're waiting for the temperatures to get back in the plus numbers to check out the physical arrangement.

Fully warmed up; blowing hot and cold; Suzuki XL-7

Its just a vent damper plate not operating, it's like a gate which controls the flow of air,,usually they are operated by vacuum, or cables.
Service center time, unless you are handy with your own repairs.

Hi, my best advise is to have your air check for freon leaks ,low freon causes the compresor cluth to stop working ,this can cause the air to blow hot .......
